A well organised book that offers the reader pretty much everything they need to know when it comes to Business Continuity, Crisis Management and IT Disaster Recovery. I initially bought it to support my MSc dissertation but have found it very a very useful reference guide at work too.

It is written in a conversational tone and certainly does not come across, as some do, as a dry textbook. Concepts are explained well and the author clearly demonstrates 'real-world' knowledge in his writing.

This book covers the whole continuum of Business Continuity Management and provides a useful text for newcomers and the more experienced. It would benefit from being able to access the templates directly rather than having to go to a website and then being told to email the author.

I just moved into Business Continuity and this book came at just the right time. It's saved me lots of time and is much more practical than the other books I've looked at.

This year I've had to take responsibility for doing BIAs, writing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans and running both DR and Business Recovery test. The book filled in all my blanks and gave me the confidence to dive right in.

I'm quite lucky as we have templates for most things, but if we didn't the book has templates for pretty much everything, so looks like a great resource. Until I got this book I just felt I was being told what I had to do but not how to do it, the book explained how to do it in simple terms and with examples.

At the moment the book is helping me with the basics, but it covers all the topics at an advanced level so I think it will be useful for as long as I stay in Business Continuity.

I borrowed this book off my manager at work who had purchased it because responsibility for fulfilling some BCM functions had been passed to our department. Having little experience of the subject I found the book to be full of practical advice and suggested actions for ways to implement or improve BCM.
Its written in a down to earth manor and stays away from waffle and excessive theory, instead providing detailed descriptions of how to carry out the necessary tasks to ensure key business functions continue when faced with disruption.
I would recommend this book for anyone with little time on their hands who needs to get a quick grasp of what to do to implement BCM in a business.

I just started to become involved in my companies BCP plan. I have been doing a lot of research and have found 'The Business Continuity Management Desk Reference' by Jamie Watters The Business Continuity Management Desk Reference is a fantastic read and resource. It contains a great balance of theoretical information, alongside the practical advice to actually get something down in document form, which will work. There are also numerous templates that allow you to simply get started, or if you are already underway with a plan, fine tune, critique or improve what is already in use.
