How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

If you already own a disc or two of Bacharach's greatest hits, you may wonder whether a six-disc set is just an excuse for filler, duplications and generally weaker material. Fortunately, this set is much better than that: it's not faultless, but it does enough to be pretty much essential.
In the first place, many of the most famous versions of songs simply aren't here, so duplications with other collections are not a serious problem. Moreover, duplications of songs within the box do appear, but they are selected with a degree of common sense: both "Walk On By" and "Alfie" get three readings, but in both cases the versions are welcome and well spaced across the set's six discs (and seven hours).
The artists involved range from the obvious (Dionne Warwick gets five songs, Dusty Springfield gets four) to the unexpected (Marianne Faithfull, Marlene Dietrich & Rumer) but pretty much everything is either interesting, or good, or both. A full disc of Bacharach's own, mainly instrumental band versions of his songs is worthwhile, and the final disc digs up a number of welcome jazz recordings.
In terms of weaknesses, there are a few to take account of. A US Amazon reviewer complains about sound quality; I think that the sound quality is actually generally good, but the set has not been freshly mastered, which means that some of the tracks may be prone to old (or new) mastering problems. The book that comes with this set does not contain original album data. The discs are housed in plain card envelopes, which is an oddly low-budget decision for an otherwise well-presented set. Oh, and the box is physically rather big. I don't see that any of these problems amount to a reason to dock this set a star.
With its enjoyable rarities, this set fully exploits the large canvas of six discs and is sure to introduce any but the most obsessive completist with a disc or two of new favourites.

I found this a bit old fashioned. To be fair I was after the concert songs that had been shown on TV..maybe the stage show? Which are obviously a more modern version. He remains one of the best song writers of all time however.

This is an outstanding collection of Burt Bacharach songs. These songs have touched countless lives! They will last forever and invoke memories galore ( I'm sure ) for the listener and offer new listeners an insight into a master of music-craft. I have often felt that Elvis would have made a fine job of recording 24 HOURS FROM TULSA, but he is here along with a host of legendary singers. Grateful to have it delivered to my Kindle as a bonus as well.

The mixture of Performers and styles can jar a little,
but overall, ideal for seasoned Bacharach fans, and new converts as well.
I'm a fan of the great man, so anything by him is welcome!

My favourite composer, telling his story very honestly, an engrossing read. I loved it and couldn't put it down until I'd finished reading it.

Easy listening double CD of Bacharach compositions sung by various artists so plenty of tracks to chose from.
