I thoroughly enjoyed this short read as the author showed the horrors of the First World War at home and abroad, for those who served overseas and especially for those who stayed at home waiting on their loved ones. I would love if she would write another book based on the family of Ralph and Francis, plus of course their many friends and let us readers see more of Francis Kemp or as she is known to her friends as Fanny or Franny to her darling Ralph. Within the earlier books Miss Kemp was seen as a strict school mistress but within this short book we seen a girl who held strong beliefs and stood by those she cared for but also one who enjoyed being with her friends and of course Ralph.Read more ›
