Product description

Product Description

The singular London troubadour returns with an assured and mature cycle of haunting electric folk songs, painted from a wider palette, delivered up by exceptional accompanists, and offering a fresh perspective on his unique worldview. Trent Miller hails from just outside Turin, the 'Capital of the Alps', in Northern Italy though now resides in London where his fusions of folk, rock, goth and americana have seen him attract a growing following, and had the Daily Mirror declaring 'fans of Gene Clark, Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark will recognise a kindred spirit in his glowering meditations and steely worldview'. 'Burnt Offerings' presents a series of snapshots illustrating the unravelling of a doomed love as two lives spiral towards disintegration utterly consumed by passion. At times a raking of the ashes, at others a vision of what might have been, from the summery aspect of 'Pictures From A Different World' to the desolate melancholy of 'On The Stone Beach'. Recording at Reservoir Studios followed a period of working-up that culminated in a more modern, electric-oriented sound. This was the most adept collection of musicians Trent has worked with thus far – among them BBC Folk Awards double nominee Ben Walker, Bob Gedof's guitarist Paul Cuddeford, and Danny & The Champions Of The World's drummer Steve Brookes - - the result is his most assured, mature work yet.
