I've heard Pam speak on burnout and was very keen to read this book. It does not disappoint and is like listening to Pam in the flesh in front of you - full of sound, no punches pulled sage advice, with real-life comments from those who failed to manage burn-out to bring a sense of reality that you really must heed these words of wisdom - NOW!
Pam has the right questions to ask yourself, ensures you understand what your own "overdrive is doing to you" and how it can't last forever - you certainly aren't going to last forever - especially the way you are going right now.
Great tips and strategies and sometimes unnerving insight into recognising toxic stuff in your life.
My favourite thought is that something might kill us emotionally to stop doing it - but actually it will literally kill us if we keep saying yes.
Say yes to Pam's advice, look her up, access her free resources or book a session with her 1:1 or for your team.
Take a moment to stop, look at yourself and others and ensure you're effective and having fun for longer.
Well done Pam, look forward to reading your next book.
A must read, especially if you are too busy to read it! Most people ignore the fact they they may be heading for burnout and what this book highlights are all the signs that can potentially lead you exactly down that path if you choose not to act. The book provides lots of solutions, however knowledge alone is not enough, you have to take action. As Pam says "In achieving well-being, the magic is in the little every day good things you do for your mind and, body and soul". As I would say "make self care non - negotiable".
