Good in parts!

Not everybody's favourite Bad Co album but I've a soft spot for it as it was the first album I bought by them.With hindsight it's "good in parts", some really strong tracks like Leaving You, Morning Sun and the title track, but a lot of filler. Good to hear a lot of tracks from this album on the recently released live album with a rawer sound.

BAD COMPANY BURNIN' SKY 2017 2CD DELUXE EDITION

Like the ist two deluxe editions ( BAD CO & STRAIGHTSHOOTER) this comes with superb remastered sound by Jon Astley and sounds absolutely amazing,better than the previous remastered edition in my opinion.

Disc 1 ,the original album with the upgraded sound quality bringing a new beefed up sound to the heavier tracks such as 'Burnin' Sky',just listen as is struts right out of the speakers whilst the beautiful haunting 'Morning Sun' shimmers in all its glory.Once again the remaster brings a new depth and dimension to the album

Disc 2 14 outakes and alternate versions including unreleased track 'The Unfinished Story',in truth nothing essential but worth a listen.

the biggest disappointment is the booklet reduced from 20 pages(on the ist 2 releases) to 16 pages resulting in there being no detailed notes re the alternate/unreleased version,really poor that was the best part of the previous booklets.

This is a much maligned album from the fans,critics and indeed the band themselves,when the 10 from 6 compilation was released back in the 80's,this was the only album which wasnt represented,still its worth remembering that the band included 7,yes 7 of the tracks on the UK tour 1977,so the believed in it once,give it a chance,its not the best album they made and certainly not as good as the first 3 but it has many qualites and should be re-evalued,hopefully this release while give everyone the chance, 4 stars.

Some mixed reviews for this album but for me it comes a close 2nd to there debut album. It has a great mixture of tracks from rockers to ballads to acoustic tracks. The band are on fine form and Paul Rodgers vocals are superb. A blues-rock classic!
