I was finding it hard to decide whether to give it 2, 3 or 4 stars. There is some good information in here, well and some well balanced and referenced bits, which are important for good health. There are also far too many selectively referenced bits. This, coupled with constant self-advertisement about the "Bulletproof diet" (which cures everything and is the best way to live, of course) makes this an annoying book with some useful information in it. Dave seems to think that because something worked for him (with a few experiments that he may or may not have done in any given case) it would work for everyone. Doing good experiments that give you solid evidence is very hard, if you really want to control for different variables when you change some other ones in your diet and lifestyle. He also jumps to far too many conclusions on very complex biological, nutritional and fitness topics. Unfortunately, no amount of biohacking and exploration can give you the definitive answers on all these topics to the extent that he thinks he has. If only things were as simple and straightforward as he sometimes claim they are...

Perhaps his next book will be more honest, less self-advertising and with better presentation of empirical and theoretical support for his claims.

If I had flipped through the book and seen the contents, I probably would not have bought it. If you are interested in another book on healthy eating and lifestyle, I recommend instead something like Ray Kurzweil and Terry Grossman's "Transcend". The science is far better and it's easier to read.

In great condition as bought second hand. Really informative book and I've lost weight already complete life changer. Would recommend for good health everything is explained and Dave has done experiments to come up with the best way forward in healthy living.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Definitely very thought provoking as it throws a lot of traditional health advice under the scrutiny of measured tests to see what holds up and what is myth. This may explain why my mother who is obsessed with spreading butter on everything is so thin long into her old age.

I bought this on Kindle and read lots of it but eventually got to the actual 14 day diet. This listed the meals but not the recipes. The recipes were supposed to be in the Appendix which was not included in this Kindle Purchase that I downloaded. Is this a trick to make you buy the Appendix separately or is the Kindle wrong?
Without the Appendix it is not worth even rating it with stars, but as I am forced to give a star rating I will put one star but not because I hated it just that it is incomplete.

I am one of those people that plays about with my diet every now and again to find what really works for me. I loved this book, enjoyed reading Dave's research and, literally bit the bullet and bought the coffee (which is the best coffee I have EVER tried and trust me, I have tried LOADS). The knowledge shared is the sort you read and go "pff of course, why didn't I realise that", it's that obvious stuff that you hadn't pieced together.

Common sense and good coffee fun abounds. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Clearly written - the chart for best foods, suspect foods ( for those who may have food intolerances) and foods not to be eaten is excellent. It also gives you the daily amounts for each food to be eaten daily. I have read a good number of Paleo books and in my opinion he has pulled the knowledge out there in this concise way. I consider this a must read for anyone wanting to improve their health. The week's meal plan is excellent too as are the recipes to start us off - both easy, delicious and above all, healthful. I then went on to get his recipe book which is now a go-to for all my meals. I haven't lost many pounds but I'm a. 65 year old with MS so activity is limited but I am only 7 lbs overweight, and those are the most difficult to lose! However for those who are normally active will see results I have little doubt. But you will see the results in how you feel and how you look - amazing!
