Excellent supplement, acidic taste
on 19 April 2014
I got interested in L-Arginine and L-Citrulline after reading Nobel Prize winning scientist Luis Ignarro's book on the benefits of Nitric Oxide in the cardiovascular system, No More Heart Disease: How Nitric Oxide Can Prevent - Even Reverse - Heart Disease and Strokes.
The health benefits are too numerous to list in full, but in my case, these supplements have lowered my blood pressure and improved blood supply to my muscles. I have been using ProArgi 9Synergy Proargi 9, a product endorsed by Dr Ignarro himself, but since it is expensive and not always easy to get hold of in the UK, I have been looking for an alternative supply.
This, plus the BULK POWDERS 1Kg L-Arginine made by the same company, is a bulk way of getting the two supplements recommended by Dr Ignarro, but there is one drawback -- the L-Citrulline has a sharp, lemony taste (the L-Arginine is worse, really bitter).
Mixing this with something like Crystal Lite, or even fresh orange juice, might be the answer for people who, like me, find the taste a big obstacle. I use a quarter teaspoon of Crystal Lite Peach per 2 scoops.
On the plus side, this supplement really seems to work on the vascular system, with all kinds of benefits, from sexual response (in both sexes) to muscle building and lowered blood pressure.
Recommended, but you'll have to work out how to overcome that nasty taste. ProArgi9, by the way, already has an artificial flavour & sweetener built into it, and the taste is acceptable. It also has some extra supplements.
