5.0 out of 5 stars Stimulate Children's Writing 31 Aug. 2009
By Donnalyn Yates - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
It's important to me for a teaching book to be well organized and easy to use. Building Your Vocabulary meets this criteria. As a teacher, this book is in constant use. I finally put little tabs on each chapter to make it easier to refer to, in a "teachable moment." The section titled "100 Great Words" stimulates young writers to expand their vocabulary. You can't go wrong with this book.
5.0 out of 5 stars Everybody should buy this book! 28 May 2014
By Ibrahim - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
If English is your second language like me, then this is, indeed the book for you. It will teach to you say things that might charm your American friends as you tell them that everything is going "hunky-dory" for you and your heart goes out for those women who are "kow tow" against their will. You will let them know how Arab spend hours reading "lovey dovey" poetry and they don't being seen in touch with their emotions. You will learn a lot that would be beneficial to you as a language learner. When you look at a thesaurus, from now you will approach it with deep appreciation and be thankful that you can properly use words in writing or expressing yourself so you don't sound like those banal people who use "cool" generically for every other word and they have nothing new in their lives. By all means read every book by this author. I plan on doing that. Will you?
