Loving this band!! Discovered them through watching Death Note. Who knows what they're saying but who cares!! The music is melodic and heavy!!!!
CD was well packaged and arrived weeks earlier than expected!! I will definitely buy off this company again!!

Like a lot of people, I first heard Maximum the Hormone by watching the anime Death Note. Luckily, both "What's Up, People?!" and "Zetsubou Billy" are a good introduction to the album, and if you love those songs, this album will appeal to you in many ways. Having been described as "the Japanese System of a Down", Maximum the Hormone know how to write songs that are just pretty weird! For example, track 11 is named "Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nururu Rero Rero." That they sing in Japanese does not matter as long as you can appreciate the singing melodies and the musician qualities of the band. I highly recommend this CD to all fans of j-rock, and rock in general.

I looked over their songs on Youtube after listening to the opening/ending credits to Death Note, and I msut say this is probably one of the best albums made. In style it's compariable to that of System of a Down, but alot more cheerful. What's up, People!?, Chu Chu Lovely and Zetsubou Billy are brilliant songs in their own right, but this entire album is really, really worth checking out. No song seems to be filler. A definate must for audiophiles as they use alot of subtle guitar riffs. This dedication to music is definatly something missing from the West.

Absolute proof that language barriers can be overcome by truly awesome music!

Maximum the Hormone is the smouldering wreckage of a Death Race pile-up between the screamingly mental System of a Down thrash mobile, The Ramones monster pick-up truck of hooks and the R.H.C.Peppers funked-up, psychedelic VW Camper all ploughing head first into Motorhead's Harley of riffs, the cold, corpse carrying hearse of Napalm Death and The Ronettes sugar truck.

It's fast, funky, catchy, noisy, snotty, loud, infectious and brilliant. & Maximum the Hormone are guaranteed 2b your new favourite band if you like any of the above mentioned bands :o)

Don't have reservations, try it!

Its like a random mix of hardcore yet soft sounds on this album. What's up people and Zetsubou Billy are the best songs on this album by far. The random beats come very fast and unpredictable so it makes me like them more.

Whether or not you you speak Japanese, the language barrier won't detract from this almighty album.
This if the fourth album outing for the Rock/Alternative Metal band Maximum The Hormone and they show themselves to be as versatile and full of dangerous amounts of energy as ever. Indeed, to label them simply as Alternative Metal is somewhat of an understatement as we see them unafraid to tackle the pop market shamelessly, throw in some reggae stylizing and Flea style licks before mashing you senseless with heavy riffs. No two tracks are the same, and the the structures of the tracks vary a great deal throughout, jumping left and right constantly throwing you of guard to what to expect next.

The band consists brother and sister team Ryo (Guitar/Clean vocals) and Nao (Drums/Clean Vocals), younger member commonly nick-named Ue-Chan (Bass/Backing Vocals) and front-man Daisuki (Roars/Rapping).
As doubtless mentioned elsewhere, two of the lead tracks 'Zetsubou Billy' and 'What's Up People!?' were the ending and opening to the second season of the anime Death Note.

Whether or not this influences your buy I don't know, but doubtless while this album is unlikely to go down in the history of rock, it's now firmly cemented as one of my favourites.
The packaging is also quality and the includes a surprisingly thick and imaginative lyric book!

I absolutely love this band, they create music in a style thats like nothing we here in this country. Even though I can't speak a word of Japanese I find myself singing along with the amazingly catchy tracks. With some really hardcore guitar riffs and backed with an interesting blend of funk bass playing and heavy metal style drumming, finally topped with a throat renching performance from the singer, this band are definately the upcoming future of heavy rock music.
