Because soft cotton tops are best for comfort and plastic ones are best for catching crumbs, the Brother Max 3 Combi Bibs combines both. Nobody likes a messy bag when out of the house, so the cotton top rolls up inside the crumb catcher, along with any cutlery used. And no one wants a messy baby, so these cotton bibs are plastic lined, meaning food and drink can't seep through the bibs. What's more the cotton tops are machine washable and tumble dryer friendly, making life that little bit easier.

I was surprised by how nicely and throughtfully put together these were, so can't recommend it enough. There are also disposable bibs that fit with the tray, which would be handy for longer trips away from a washing machine.
Well worth giving them a try!
When your child has finished a feed, you can dispose of the dirty cotton bib (which fits conveniently onto the plastic 'food catcher') to wash later and replace with a clean one for the next meal. I found the cotton bibs were suitable to feed a bottle of milk to my son so I didn't have to mess around with different bibs and simply added the tray when my son required feeding (if shortly after his drink). They are plastic lined which means they don't leak food/drink onto clothes and were a good fit for him at 1 years old.
The negative which really lets the product down is that the bib is velcro fitted around the neck. My son constantly yanks it off (with ease) and throws it on the floor (sending whatever food has collected in the food catcher everywhere!). I can't help feel that the product would improve greatly if it had a popper button (like is featured on the bottom of the bib). This feature has now rendered the product useless now he is older as he pulls it off all the time which is a real shame as the concept is excellent!
The only issue is that the loop that attaches around baby's neck is quite large and hence food gets down baby's neck/ chest.
On the downside, the cotton bib part is not very absorbent so cannot be used if you are just giving baby milk. This also means that it's not that useful for wiping baby's mouth after they have finished eating. The tray part is a decent size but doesn't always catch everything, particularly if you have a baby who loves playing with their food so I tend to use a bib that covers the whole torso and arms now when I am at home.
I have not yet had any problems with the colours running or fading in the wash and they have been used quite a bit.
Overall these bibs are definitely a good purchase for parents to use when out and about due to their size, and also as first weaning bibs, but I would recommend an all over bib when at home. You can get them quite cheaply in the bigger supermarkets.

Easy to put on, easy to clean and catches food. Only problem, my son started to pull it off at 12mo, whereas he can't pull off his full body bibs.Published 3 months ago by Stephanie
