Product Description

Because soft cotton tops are best for comfort and plastic ones are best for catching crumbs, the Brother Max 3 Combi Bibs combines both. Nobody likes a messy bag when out of the house, so the cotton top rolls up inside the crumb catcher, along with any cutlery used. And no one wants a messy baby, so these cotton bibs are plastic lined, meaning food and drink can't seep through the bibs. What's more the cotton tops are machine washable and tumble dryer friendly, making life that little bit easier.

Box Contains

  • 3 x Cotton tops
  • 1 x Plastic crumb catcher

After trying several kinds of bibs for my six month old, I thought I'd give these a go and they did not disappoint. They are great for several reasons, the cloth part washes easily in the machine, its soft against the skin (none of that horrid crackly sound you can get with waterproof bibs usually) and the little soft silicon tray is great for wrapping messy bits up in afterwards. There are also three cloth bibs included so you should have enough for a day!
I was surprised by how nicely and throughtfully put together these were, so can't recommend it enough. There are also disposable bibs that fit with the tray, which would be handy for longer trips away from a washing machine.
Well worth giving them a try!

I was looking for a product to replace an old pelican bib I had for my son which was getting a little worse for wear. I came across the Brother Max 'Catch and Fold' bib and was sold with the replaceable cotton bib concept. With three cotton bibs supplied (which fit onto the bottom tray), it makes it an ideal solution for busy days or when you are out and about as the plastic 'food catcher' doubles up as a storage space for spoons (and the cotton bibs) to place in a changing bag.

When your child has finished a feed, you can dispose of the dirty cotton bib (which fits conveniently onto the plastic 'food catcher') to wash later and replace with a clean one for the next meal. I found the cotton bibs were suitable to feed a bottle of milk to my son so I didn't have to mess around with different bibs and simply added the tray when my son required feeding (if shortly after his drink). They are plastic lined which means they don't leak food/drink onto clothes and were a good fit for him at 1 years old.

The negative which really lets the product down is that the bib is velcro fitted around the neck. My son constantly yanks it off (with ease) and throws it on the floor (sending whatever food has collected in the food catcher everywhere!). I can't help feel that the product would improve greatly if it had a popper button (like is featured on the bottom of the bib). This feature has now rendered the product useless now he is older as he pulls it off all the time which is a real shame as the concept is excellent!

Fantastic item and excately what I wanted. So many bibs that claim to catch crumbs actually don't because the lip/catcher bit isn't prominent enough. The lip on this however is pre-moulded and will catch food. The fact that you can roll everything up inside it when done, seal it and pop it in your bag is an added bonus. I like the fact you can swap the actual material bit which is handy if needing the bib more than once a day. Definately did the job and my 13 month old was busy grabbing and eating the food he had collected in the catcher bit. The neck size is slightly big for him (and he is big for his age) and I had to keep pulling it back so that it sat snug against the base of his neck and protected the neckline of his jumper, but this will become less of a problem as he grows. Next time I shall see if I can make it tighter with the velcro.

I like them very much. I started weaning several weeks ago and find these bibs very handy. liquid stays on the cotton part of the bib (which has waterproof lining so clothes stay dry) and lumps of food don't fall on my knees or my son's clothes but into the "crumb catcher". Still, the best feature is that the bib can be closed with a spoon and taken for a walk. It is small and the spoon stays clean. Unfortunately there is also a drawback: the neck opening is to big and some of the food (especially if more watery) goes onto clothes so you may need another bib underneath.

Really good product. The materials used are good, easy to use and wash, with a innovative design.

The only issue is that the loop that attaches around baby's neck is quite large and hence food gets down baby's neck/ chest.

There are two parts to this bib - a cotton bib that attaches round the neck using Velcro, and a plastic tray that attaches to the bib using poppers The positives are that the bib part is also plastic backed so food cannot soak through and stain clothes and the tray is large enough to catch most spillages. The cotton bib can be rolled up and stored inside the plastic tray to be easily transported if you need to feed baby on the go, and I normally keep the spoon in there as well. You can also squeeze in a very small food pot and still do up the poppers.

On the downside, the cotton bib part is not very absorbent so cannot be used if you are just giving baby milk. This also means that it's not that useful for wiping baby's mouth after they have finished eating. The tray part is a decent size but doesn't always catch everything, particularly if you have a baby who loves playing with their food so I tend to use a bib that covers the whole torso and arms now when I am at home.

I have not yet had any problems with the colours running or fading in the wash and they have been used quite a bit.

Overall these bibs are definitely a good purchase for parents to use when out and about due to their size, and also as first weaning bibs, but I would recommend an all over bib when at home. You can get them quite cheaply in the bigger supermarkets.
