About the Author

Being born an "Army Brat", Erika Ashby has been residing in Oklahoma the last 10 years finally putting an end to the nomad tendencies she had grown accustomed to. She's a happily married woman who has 5 kids between her and her husband. She has an insane passion for music and embraces her Inner Groupie any chance she has. It wasn't until the age of 29 that she realized she also had a hidden passion for reading; before then she claimed to have hated it. Six months after unlocking that deep desire she never knew she held, she turned the key to another chapter of her life which has become the desire to write. And the rest is still history in the making.

What a emotional read heart wrenching straight from the heart full of emotions to love and lose it so quickly in a heartbeat! So glad my sister recommend this book to me wished I had read it sooner! Loved the character's of Lynsie Fox who is married to Lincoln a military pilot and loved his best friend Dax who Lynsie is on a mission to find him the right partner but unknown to her his heart all ready belongs to her! Great chemistry and a fabulous Romance love story and who doesn't love a military romance story!

This is one of the most emotional books I've read this year. Do you remember how your first love made you feel, how much they loved you, would do anything for you that's how Lynsie feels she is married to the love of her life an Air Force pilot, when a terrible accident happens she is forced to reevaluate her life. Together with his best friend Dax they have to find a way to move forward with their lives. Can you fall in love again after losing the one you thought you'd spend the rest of your life with?

The author has drawn from her own experiences, and those of her father, to write something which definitely shows she knows what she is writing about.

The story is a lot of things. It is funny at parts, heartbreaking during a lot of it. But mostly it is a journey. A journey to find what your heart desires the most, even if that's not what you believe it to be at the start.

For Lynsie Fox that journey is one she could never have dreamed she would have to go on. She has a good life with her husband Lincoln, a pilot, and a very good one at that. He and Lynsie are getting on with life, trying for a baby, and enjoying each other's company.

Dax is Lincoln's best friend, also a pilot. He is a good friend to Lynsie also, and he becomes a very important part of the story as it progresses.

I cannot say too much as it would give everything away. Suffice to say this is an amazing story, very well written. It is written from the heart and that shines through as you read it. I recommend you read it, but be prepared as it is a tough story to read at times.

Epic. That was the word that entered my head the minute I had finished this ‘unputdownable’ book. I am over the moon that Ms Ashby was persuaded to do a military story and with that she has created an absolutely beautiful and heart wrenching tale that deservedly is a five star (ten stars!) read for me.

Lynsie Fox is the woman who has everything but then tragedy strikes leaving her with nothing, or is there hope she has been given a second chance by fate or had fate already driven the path she was unknowingly on?

Oh WOW where to start? OK. Lincoln Fox is a hot military man with all that that entails (big swoon!) and to top that he is a pilot. In the army. (Even bigger swoons!) But even more than that he loves his wife, his Lynsie Pearl. In the first part of the book we delve into the lives and love of Lynsie and Lincoln and their hopes for the future. To further encompass this perfect world is Dax, Lincoln’s best friend since forever and now also the best friend of his wife.

Lynsie is such a wonderfully strong woman, even in the depth of the deepest anguish she should ever know she fights it head on, knowing she has to come through this. However at first she cuts off everyone she knows, as is her coping mechanism, but one person she cannot cope without is Dax. Only Dax could really understand what she is feeling and she leans on him as her anchor in a storm. In doing so she doesn’t realise that she is also helping Dax to live through the most distraught time of his life.

I was drawn to Dax from the first page, he was so heartbreakingly gorgeous with his scruffy but sexy blonde hair. He was devoted to his best friend and wife, hiding his own deepest feelings and always putting others first before himself. Such a wonderful and selfless man.

I've never left a proper review for a book before but on finishing this book tonight I feel I must.
I thought I had a fair idea of what to expect when I started this book but boy was I wrong. I don't want to give anything more away and spoil the story for anyone yet to read it but I'll say this: It takes you to places you sometimes don't want to go but is also very uplifting at times. I cried.. .. A lot!! But I also laughed to. There are some amazing characters in this story and I loved them all for my own reasons.. .. Not a dud in sight!
This was the first book I've read by Erika Ashby but on the strength of the story, it certainly won't be my last.
Keep up the great work Erika.. .. I loved this book!!

oh my word!

What a heart wrenchingly beautifully written book. This was a story of a hidden live triangle, 2 best friends and their girl!

Lynsie is so much in love with her husband Lincoln and is desperate to have a baby with him, she is also trying to find their dear best friend Dax a girl to have some of the love Lynsie has with Lincoln, what she doesn't realise is that Dad has been hiding his true feelings for Lynsie, after all he is an honourable guy, relishing in friendship! He goes along with Lynsie's matchmaking but never has a second date.

So as things move along, Lincoln is taking part in the 4th July celebrations, he ius after all a pilot in the army. He also has a surprise for her! when disaster strikes, causing her huge grief, oh my such sadness! heartbreaking.

Their friend Dax also a pilot was with Lynsie when disaster struck, he went above and beyond the call of friendship, even burying his feelings.

This was a beautifully written story, full of emotion, love, hate, despair, desire, compassion and passion! Then throw in a pregnancy and more training missions and you have a truly emotional roller coaster of a read!

The love Lynsie shared with her husband was totally different to the live she shared with Dax, which I really thought was going to get overlooked. Lynsie and Dax truly deserved to find a love that was going to get them both through the worst heartache anyone could endure.

I absolutely loved this standalone book, thankfully all ending in the right place!
