Product description

About the Author

As a child, Tara Mayoros moved to Asia with her family where her love of different cultures and travel began. In college she satisfied her wanderlust by moving to back to China, filling her head with countless stories, and occasionally writing them down. Years, marriage, children, and many adventures later, she picked up her dusty pen and paper and realized that writing took her to different worlds and gave her the experiences that she yearned for. As an artist, musician, and nature lover, she sees the beauty in the process, and the miracle, of creation. The mountains are her home and they call to her whenever she finds herself in need of inspiration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved It!!! 2 Oct. 2014
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This was such a great book. I loved all of the characters. The strength of the female lead, Laidan, coupled with her vulnerable side made her one of my favorites. Laidan is a song writer and I loved how Tara, the Author, included the song lyrics as part of the book. They were beautifully written. I also loved Rafe, the male lead. I loved how the book was set in China. I have never been there but it made me want to go. This book inspires you to be a better person and to always go after what you love and for the right reasons. I can't wait to see what's next for Tara Maroros.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet love story 25 Oct. 2014
By Historical Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
One of the most beautiful aspects of this tale was the love the heroine shared not only with Rafe, but with so many others. I truly came to care about the other characters in the story as much as I did for the central ones, because the happily ever after was so intrinsically tied to the happiness of her friends. The setting of a village in China was fascinating and the polar opposite of the extreme world she left behind. I was delighted with the way her dilemma was resolved in the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect clean read! Brilliant! 30 Sept. 2014
By Christine - Published on Amazon.com

Broken Smiles is beautifully written and pulls at my heartstrings. I found myself sighing, squealing with delight and crying along with the characters. It is a touching love story that I will reread. Mayoros writing pulls you into the setting and makes your heart ache with those small children with cleft palates. I perfect read for anyone.

Broken Smiles is a very compelling story that kept me up all night reading! Expertly told, Mayoros takes readers on a rollercoaster journey through the world of professional musicians that ends in the mountains of rural China. Definitely worth a read!
