I missed book one, I know I am willingly standing in the naughty corner, feeling suitable ashamed.
And while this book can be read as a standalone, I will be diving onto Amazon and into book one as soon as possible, I have just got to get me some more of these fabulous Crawford boys.
This is the story of Cade and Palmer and while they had a shot at being together when they were younger, there was one sticking point that eventually put paid to their secret relationship…Palmer was Cade’s best friends little sister and we all know that stupid “No dating your friend’s sister rule” that guys seem to be confused about…come on guys get a grip!
But despite the fact that they have been flying solo for years, they are constantly dipping in and out of each other’s lives, their ties are bound too tight and the connections just keep on coming and on this particular occasion, nature is getting in on the act too.
But is it a case of asking when will life give them a break or on this occasion is it giving them a helping hand?
I think it might be easy to assume that you can almost choreograph where this story might go but I am pleased to say that you would be barking up the wrong tree because the author was able to ensure that the it wasn’t only the sexual tension that built to a crescendo, the whole story just built, bit by bit, page by page.
The tension there was between Cade and Palmer was not only palpable it was completely understandable, they had allowed convention to tear them apart but with the secrets they continued to harbour and the angst that neither of them was willing to shed would they ever be able to reach a happy place or would they find that life was easier apart? Would they fight or would the weight of it all force them to call time again?

Another brilliant book from Jillian Dodd in the ‘Love’ series. I really enjoyed the first book, but the second book was even better! This is a standalone and can be read on its own, although there are cross references to the previous book, so to enjoy it to its full capacity I would recommend reading book 1 first. They are 2 completely different books though and the storylines are so totally different!

This story follows another Crawford brother, and this time it is the turn of Cade. When Cade was younger him and Palmer Montlake, were together. They were young and were in love – everything was perfect apart from the fact they had been keeping their relationship a secret. Palmer is the little sister of Cade’s best friend Pike – that is bound to cause some problems. After splitting up years ago and no longer being together, fate seems to keep intervening they keep getting thrown together again! A number of different circumstances keep bringing them together and the snowy stormy night in Tahoe brings them together once more – with no option of escape this time.

These two have known each other forever and there is some serious sexual tension and pent up chemistry in this book! It is full of angst and some wonderful feelings. Will they be able to find their way back to each other, even with all of their history, secrets and misunderstandings? What will Cade’s family think? What will Palmer’s brother do?

All of the supporting characters in this book are brilliant. The references to the other brothers and the rest of the Crawford family is lovely, there are some brilliant friendships (such as Palmer and her assistant Tori). I also love Palmers relationship with her brother, Pike.

Broken Love (Love #2) by Jillian Dodd
4 stars!!

“The heart that truly loves never forgets.” – Proverb

Broken Love is the second book in Jillian Dodd’s love series, in the first book we read as Cash Crawford got his happily ever after but now another Crawford was in the mix, Cade.

Cade Crawford was Cash’s older brother and he had been in love with Palmer Montlake since she was fifteen. They had already had one bite of the cherry and it didn’t work out, but now their paths cross once again... Jillian Dodd delivers forbidden and second chance love in this slightly angsty, slightly emotional but incredibly swoon worthy story. My heart well and truly melted.

“I’ve got it so bad for you I may start writing poetry.”

Palmer Montlake was the younger sister of, Pike and Pike was Cade’s best friend. It is bro code that you do not mess with your best friend’s younger sister, but these two truly loved each other. Pike had entrusted his sister, Palmer into Cade’s safe hands as her agent but Cade made her wait six years before he gave in, he cherished his friendship with Pike but at the end of the day, the heart wants who the heart wants and his heart had been beating for Palmer for the past six years. Palmer was insistent that they kept their relationship a secret and when Cade proposed they were finally going to tell everyone, until one stupid argument, one stupid misunderstanding that blew everything to s***, including his friendship with Pike. That day, Cade not only lost the love of his life, he lost his best friend too, he lost everything and the other mantra…you should never mix business with pleasure.
