Product Description

Paul Bettany (The Young Victoria, Master & Commander) and Olivia Williams (Hanna, The Ghost Writer) front a stellar British cast in a powerful and emotional journey of love, obligation, and conflict, set against the backdrop of London s multi-cultural suburbia. After the sudden death of his father, a newly-engaged Jewish man (Dan Fredenburgh) plunges into a charged love affair with an attached young waitress (Doraly Rosa). Both are searching for happiness and don t want to give up on their life-long dreams, but are trapped by their existing responsibilities to the lives they have already created. Format: DVD
Film: As a film, Broken Lines lacks drive and the narrative frequently dips. Some decent performances save it from being a total disaster though (Paul Bettany is excellent) but the talents of Olivia Williams, one of Britain's best actors, are wasted.

The transfer: Broken Lines has been transferred to DVD by Axiom Films in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Although quality is limited by the DVD format, colours are good and the image is perfectly watchable, with some minor noise issues.

Flawed, but interesting slice of a London not often portrayed on film. Bettany as ever is excellent, and it really builds.
