About the Author

Robin Wood has stubbornly resisted the trends of academic film studies and in so doing has remained one of its most influential voices. Certain to be of interest to film scholars and students, this book will also be particularly useful as a text for university courses on Hawks, popular cinema, and authorship in film

3.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and Infuriating 26 April 2009
By Mr. Nowhere - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The film criticism of Andrew Britton is by turns wondrously insightful and infuriatingly ideological. He can brilliantly skewer academic cant in one passage and in another indulge in it himself.

He's worth reading for the brilliant stuff, however -- a very important critic who will get you thinking.
