I ordered this after watching the trailer on Youtube, which blew me away. The recording itself is wonderful and all the soloists are excellent. pace and timing are very good indeed and the choral singing is also wonderful - starts scarily quiet - fantastically controlled singing on the part of the choir, and then builds and builds till the Dies Irae almost frightens one out of ones skin. The final section, which I particularly love, is profoundly moving.

Simply superlative. Voices are perfectly cast & each sings their role gloriously with commitment. The choir are stunning. This is a must buy for any Britten lover.

It's fine. Although a lot of folk think it's great it's not my favourite. But I needed it as I have to sing it at the Three Choirs Festival!
