I really dont think i need to go into detail on the contents of the book, its all described and covered well by the one other review at time of posting .

This was a wonderful bargain for me at under 2.00 as new condition, what more could you ask for . I *try* to write poetry in my quite moments, it relaxes me and is a way of telling the world how much i love ( or hate it ) . The rest of the time i just admire the real poets and this book reduced me to tears of emotion and played a part in a purchase of a new bookcase for my ever growing collection of ELS books. I had also purchased "The Invented Eye" , that arrived in supreme condition, i was overjoyed .

A lovely addition for your collection, and just right for a lazy summer read in the garden .

This is a good collection of modern British poets and there work, which is organised in the editors groupings of poets. He organises Philip Larkin, Donald Davie, Elizabeth Jenkins, D J Enright, Kingsley Amis and Thom Gunn under The Movement, which refers to the movement poets.
It is a good introduction to modern poets which I have found very useful in my studies of modern poetry. If you are looking for guidance in the writing more modern poetry the is a good starting point.

This has been particularly useful as it has been edited by a working poet who has been able to define the various schools of poetry writing in a convincing way
