Meanwhile every time I needed to take the children in my car, I would swap over all the seats which was a major hassle plus with the rigid ISOFIX points it was impossible to get all 3 seats in the back, so I didn't use the ISOFIX and just used the seats belted. So 21 months ago I bought two of the new Kidfix SL seats for the Jag plus a Britax Eclipse seat for the middle, and this works great for the following reasons - the Kidfix SL has soft ISOFIX points, made of strong seatbelt fabric, which crucially allows a small amount of leeway in where the seats are located - just enough leeway to fit in a middle seat. Second, the new model doesn't have the obtrusive armrests, instead having those red-lined 'scoops' you see in the picture.Read more ›
Summary: The Kidfix SL is the mid spec seat available in the Kid SL range. For (older) children between 15-36kg / 4 - 12yrs
With "soft latch" ISOFIX or seatbelt fixing, it's a forward only facing seat using the cars seatbelt system to secure the child & with a variable angle for sleep / sitting during journeys. Compared to the other two seats in the Kidfix SL range, the SL is the one without the adjustable & repositionable side impact protection (movable depending on the side of the car it is installed in) compared to the SICT variant (available as an extra) & the KID II that again has the SICT feature as an optional extra but can't be fitted using ISOFIX at all.
For those wondering the main differences between the Kidfix SL & the (also reviewed) Kidfix XP is the SL has "Soft Latch" ISOFIX fixing but doesn't have the XP energy adsorption pad, neither does it have the SICT module included in the purchase price. Depending on the pricing at the time, it can be possible to buy the SICT module & fit it to the Kidfix SL and to make the whole purchase price cheaper than buying the Kidfix SL SICT outright ! Odd, but there you go !
Soft latch ISOFIX allows those with an awkwardly positioned ISOFIX system in their seats (such as the Nissan Qashqai) we had to locate & secure the ISOFIX seat fixings much, much easier than otherwise would be possible with a rigid fixing bar.Read more ›

Fantastic seats. Only wobbly if you do not pull the strap tight, so ignore any bad reviews mentioning that. Highly recommended.Published 10 days ago by Amazon Customer
Isofix not as easy to use or as secure as previous versions of this seat. Never the less my son finds it very comfy.Published 1 month ago by mummyof2
We have two car seats for our son, and we much prefer our recaro one! This one feels more wobbly and much less secure.Published 1 month ago by Emma Jane Frew
Very happy with this - fits sporty car seats, bit more narrow than most!Published 3 months ago by Amazon Customer
We have been so leased with these seats. They feel so substantial but aren't too wide so you still have room for a third person in the back. The ISO fix is easy to fit. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Jo Drury
Didn't fit a Renault Scenic 2005 well at all, the whole thing was loose and unsecure despite attaching to iso fix and tightening as much as possible.Published 6 months ago by SolWise
