"Bring Me Home" started out in the style fans of Alan Titchmarsh will be familiar. An uncomplicated yet engaging family saga with an intriguing plot to keep the pages turning. Alas Mr T lost said plot just as his storyline started to hurtle towards its conclusion. What a disappointment! The big family announcement which was heralded In chapter 1 just didn't materialise leaving the various strands of the storyline unresolved . After persevering with the 300 pages between beginning and end its simply not acceptable to leave the reader to imagine how the author might have tied things up if he'd supplied another page or two by way of a proper conclusion. A disappointing end to an otherwise promising tale and a clutch of engaging characters.

This book will be memorable for the fact that it will soon be forgotten. It is just so dull, so predictable. The only thing that was in the least surprising was what happened to the body. But why should I spoil the story. Titchmarsh does better working on his garden than writing in it.

This is the first book I have read written by Alan Titchmarsh. I found it too wordy and, to be truthful, boring. Shame, as I like Alan a lot! ;)

Time passed swifty as I read this tale of life and love in the Scottish Highlands. I so enjoyed learning about the events and special occasions occurring throughout the years. It follows the life of a Laird and his family through happy and tragic times. I so enjoyed the style of writing and give a thums up for an enjoyable read!

Not sure what to expect from Mr TIchmarsh but this proved to be a very good read. I did not want to put it down. Loved the fact it was also set in beautiful Scotland and the story so differerent to any thing else I've read. Well done Mr Titchmarsh looking forward to reading more of your books

An ok read for me, but I'm not a particular fan of Alan Titchmarsh the writer and wouldn't buy another Alan Titchmarsh book based on this one.

Something I've missed is a good book by Alan and this is certainly one of those and I was glad to receive it. Didn't want to put it down and sorry I finished it so quickly. Might have to read it again!
