Platinum 0.42 Carat F-Colour VVS2-Clarity Certified Fine Diamond Prong Setting Solitaire Ladies Engagement Ring. The diamond is set in Platinum on a Prong Setting and has an approximate band width of 2mm. Read below to learn about this diamond's quality: F Colour: This diamond will appear beautifully colourless in the setting at a lower price than a D or E color, depending on other quality factors. VVS2 Clarity: This diamond is very, very slightly included to the second degree, which means that there are tiny inclusions that are very difficult to see under 10 power magnification. Ideal Cut: This diamond is cut to extremely exacting proportions of depth, diameter, and angles that allows for maximum brilliance, dispersion and scintillation. HOW WILL MY RING ARRIVE? Some people might be reluctant to buy this type of product over the internet, but for me there are a few advantages. Firstly, privacy - if you're buying the ring as a surprise (which you should!) you don't want anyone to spot you shopping in town for it. Secondly, price - to get a decent ring on the high street (or even elsewhere on the net) you'll have to spend considerably more. Thirdly, you can avoid the high pressure sales environment of buying in person.
In terms of the 4C's I decided not to compromise on Cut, going for the Ideal (the best grade) in order to maximise the diamonds fire. After that, I was happy as long as the stone appeared colourless and free of inclusions to the untrained eye. ..However, with Colour and Clarity specifications of `F' and `VVS2' respectively, you definitely don't need to worry about that. I bought my own jeweller's loupe and can only barely see tiny inclusions. At 0.42 carat I was a little worried it might be too much on the small side. However, it's all about proportion, and set against a dainty (though strong enough) 2mm band and on lady's finger it's just the right size - though I wouldn't go too much smaller if you can afford it.
The service of Diamond Manufacturers was superb as well. Dispatch was within a day, and courtesy calls were received during the transaction. After-care service was also superb as I had to have the ring resized and they did this free of charge to a high standard, and with a one day turnaround.
My fiancé is absolutely delighted with the proposal and the ring, sometimes I suspect more so with the ring! She's not materialistic or a `girly girl' but loves the understated, sophisticated beauty of it. It's the perfect way to mark our engagement.
My ring has been professionally packed and constant contact has been made by the seller to answer any questions I had.
The diamond is simply beautiful, and sparkles with a lot of fire due to it's 'ideal' cut. It is very clear and colourless, and also appears to be round, whereas other brilliant round diamonds appear square due to their setting. 0.42 carats is perfect for her dainty fingers, but it's still a reasonable chunk of stone.
The ring is superb, the setting is wonderful and elegant, it is lovely to be able to see the stone clearly from the sides of the ring.
The service from Diamond Manufacturers has been second to none.
None - This ring on the danish high street would be 4 times the price - I checked! (and I haven't seen one in such a nice setting!)
Now I can't wait for our trip to New York next month!
