Although I liked this book, got a little annoyed with the hero who although loving the human heroine all his life, was still willing to give her up for the sake of his alpha status and mate with another full-blooded wolf. Very strong heroine who remained completely faithful to this rather weak minded tortured hero. Previously read this author's 'Royal' series and found this book did not compare so favourably to those stories. Perhaps this should have been read first?

In book 1 of the Kagan Wolves, we meet Nic and Riley. Nic is the alpha's son, primed to take over as Alpha when his father steps down. Riley is an honorary pack member as she is wholly human. She is also the Pack's Doctor, although she will treat any shifter that turns up.

I loved the twist in this book - that Nic the human loved and wanted Riley, but Nic the wolf saw her as weak because she couldn't give him pups! The frustration felt by Nic was tangible as you read through. Riley is a strong character and I honestly don't know if I could do what she did! I think I would have run at the first opportunity, but that's why the book isn't about me! lol

I enjoyed seeing Sean and Jenna again, and how they both helped Riley and Nic. This is what friends do for each other, even if you don't always agree with their decisions.

Very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I found, this was a wonderful full-length read into the world of the Kagan Wolves. Definitely recommended.

Torn between following his head or his heart, Nic Kagan’s running out of time to make the right decision and either decision may break something inside him in this thrilling paranormal romance.

To protect the pack, Nic must accept his role as alpha but his wolf won’t accept a weak non-shifter as his mate but with rival threats mounting Nic realizes he can’t turn his back on Riley and the reader can’t help but get drawn into the story as duty and love tear into Riley and Nic’s heart with gut wrenching emotions flowing from every page. The red hot desire between Nic and Riley certainly isn’t in question and the sex scenes prove there is plenty of scorching passion but the relationship is causing Nic an inner struggle from hell as his wolf fights him every step of the way. These strong compelling characters capture the heart right along with grabbing the reader’s attention while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with suspense, excitement, passion and a darker side to the shifter instincts.

Extreme tension builds inside the pack as time runs out for Nic and Riley because he’ll have to make the right choice soon and the threats from a rival pack is knocking at the boundaries placing Riley’s life on the line adding lots of excitement and expectation while some surprising twists keeps readers guessing. Well written scenes and details paint vivid images that bring the story to life and make it easy for the reader to become immersed in the story while the intriguing events ensure that there is never a dull moment.

Once again, Nancy Corrigan has created a fascinating world with some interesting and different elements that add a whole new facet to the shifter world and while a little on the darker side is full of passion and sexy characters that ensure the reader will come back for more…I know I can’t wait to visit the Kagan wolves again.

HASH(0x978c339c) out of 5 stars 5 stars = I freaking LOVED this book!!! 10 Aug. 2015
By Angela S Goodrich - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
In Corrigan’s world, a shifter’s wolf can prevent him or her from taking a human mate regardless of its non-shifter side’s wants, desires, or love. As this is the first book I’ve ever encountered with this twist, I spent much of the book heartbroken as Nic’s wolf actively kept him from mating with the woman he loved simply because she was human. Were this not bad enough, Nic’s attempts to distance himself from Riley often resulted in emotional wounds – to both of them. And even when his wolf finally concedes to Nic’s wishes, Corrigan insures that other events occur that kept me teary-eyed, both in happiness and sadness.

The author provides a built in history for Riley and Nic and with each piece of information that is revealed over the course of the story, I found myself wondering more than once how Nic could ever be expected to be a strong Alpha when his heart belonged to someone nature wouldn’t let him have. This is one of those cases where the memories of their time together, their breakup, and Nic’s departure were more than capable of conveying the hurt each experienced. This made Nic’s return to the pack after an attack on his father so significant and I could feel his frustration and her pain rolling off my Kindle. There were times I wanted to hate Nic for his inability to protect Riley’s heart, especially when their ending up back in bed together gave her a sense of hope in a hopeless situation, but I couldn’t because he was just as much of a victim of his nature as she was (and we find out later in the book why he couldn’t stay away). It also made Riley’s early decision to leave the pack just as understandable as her later decision to stay and fight for Nic. And it proved to be one heck of a fight.

As I expect in any shifter book, the chemistry between Nic and Riley is intense and Corrigan does an excellent job of conveying this both in and outside the bedroom. Yes, the sex was smoking hot. But in addition to the heartbreaking romance and the steamy sex, the author includes some major pack politics the likes of which I don’t see often in shifter books. But rather than the infighting I expected to see once the true extent of Nic’s father’s injuries were known, Nic had to deal with threats from an outside pack trying to take over. The level of deception and lack of integrity the opposing pack displayed ratcheted up the action and the suspense even as it served as a reminder that there’s good and bad in all species. And Corrigan does an excellent job in keeping some of the characters’ true nature hidden until the last minute, leaving the reader unsure of who Nic and Riley could and should not trust. I thoroughly enjoyed Bridged by Love and look forward to the next book in the series and spending more time with the Kagan Wolves.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

HASH(0x97f9fa44) out of 5 stars a great new series 22 July 2015
By Jonel - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Corrigan’s twist on alphas & shifters in general gives this novel a fresh feel. All the intensity we’ve come to love in shifter romances is still there, yet the uniqueness of their interactions makes it really stand out. Corrigan mixes hot sex with pack relations in an intricate way that kept me coming back for more.

The battle of wills between the main characters really stood out for me. Not only was this between each other, but within themselves, and within the pack as a whole. Nic’s duty clashes with his and Riley’s desires in a very explosive manner. Corrigan develops them on multiple levels, giving you a clear look into who they are and where they’re coming from. I also appreciate how Corrigan begins to develop the supporting cast of the series here. We don’t necessarily get to know them in-depth as individuals, but their loyalties and agendas definitely become apparent. They definitely draw you deeper into the series.

This was a very intriguing and captivating start to Corrigan’s new series. It was a hot & spicy read that I thoroughly enjoyed and has left me bated for the sequel.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

HASH(0x978c3678) out of 5 stars love? Nic and Riley were a part of the ... 26 July 2015
By Derrick & Kim Pero - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
What is it that makes the world run...money? power? love? Nic and Riley were a part of the same world though it very different capacities. Vic was in line to be the next Alpha in his pack and Riley was the pack Doctor, and a human to boot. They played together as young children and grew up together...and eventually fell in love. But a human and and Alpha can't be together, unfortunately love just isn't enough.....or is it? Circumstance finds Nic home because his father, the currant Alpha, is dying. Riley is still with the pack and still an uncontrollable pull in his life. To find out if Love is enough to overcome all including the fact that one is a werewolf and one human...you will have to read the book. There are plenty of pretty graphic adult situations in this book however, so if you aren't a fan of sex...I wouldn't recommend this one.

I give this 5 out of 5 fangs, it was a great read and very well written. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be looking for more by this author.

HASH(0x978c38b8) out of 5 stars Compelling & Unique Mythology, but a Few Too Many Erotic Encounters.... 22 July 2015
By J. Faltys - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Into the crowded paranormal genre comes this first installment in the Kagan Wolves series that's full of suspense, action-packed sequences, and lots of steamy interludes between two people not meant to be together. In the world of the Kagan Pack humans aren't allowed to mate with Alphas as they're seen as inferior and unable to continue the line. It's this belief that has tormented Nic, the shifter destined to become Alpha, ever since he fell in love with Riley. It's made both of them miserable and ultimately puts her life in danger. It will take a bit of faith and unexpected machinations for them to find their HEA and keep their pack safe.

From the moment she was born she was deemed unworthy and left in a bag by the side of the road. Taken in by the Kagan pack she found a home and young love with Nic. After an encounter that changed their futures forever he ran away leaving her trying to replace him but never succeeding. When he returns she finally decides to prove her worth by fighting for him with his inner wolf and other women being her adversary. Riley's a kindhearted soul who has made a place for herself within the pack but was deeply hurt by Nic's rejection which had her being a bit shrewish early on. Once she decided on her path though she was a formidable match, one definitely worthy of mating an Alpha.

Nic's always known his path as it was ingrained in him from birth. Falling in love with Riley wasn't part of that plan and left him reeling, running from his pack, hoping that his feelings would dim. With his father's death imminent he's returned with his attraction stronger than ever. Knowing he must mate with another shifter leaves him cold and hurting Riley even more as their mutual hunger can't become more. These moments are hot but teeming with desperation and make Nic look like a jerk for using Riley for sex. Seeing Riley in danger repeatedly though has him searching for a way to make him happy and still protect his pack in a fast-paced and cleverly crafted conclusion. Through it all Nic shows a dominant and protective side. When it comes to the women vying to be his mate he appears callous and cold, which comes from a father kept from the love of his life too out of obligation. Because of his honorable nature, and obvious love of Riley, you can't help but ache for him in his complex predicament.

This is a story with a lot of characters introduced that clutters up the story at times. Riley and Nic are an intense pair with a crackling connection teeming with eroticism. Their sexual interludes are scorching but were too frequent and ultimately became a bit blase. The mythology surrounding the packs was intriguing and promises more conflict as Nic's sister Hannah wants to rule as well and has set her sights on their neighboring rival pack. Readers looking for an erotic, and action-packed, spin on shifters will want to add this series starter to their bookshelf.
