This book consists of many pages of rubbish about rubbish.
In one chapter I read 8 pages of pointless waffle before a bridge hand was mentioned.
I quote from page 67, describing his partner:-
"The next thing I saw, sitting in a folding chair on the other side of a coffee-cratered square tablecloth, was Anubis - but an Anubis encased in a blindingly chartreuse polyester leisure suit.
"How ya doing' pally," he greeted me in a croaky Bronx accent. Gaahh. Tobias F. Riendeua's off-putting voice, as perfect a compliment to the outfit as I remembered. But it was Anubis, something definitively non-human lurked in the bottomless depths of his eyeholes - although I now swore I could see stars in there as well. The black velvet of his snout wrinkled, baring his fangs in his uniquely greasy smile."
There is very little actual bridge in this book and it does not really fit into the "story" if there is one. If there is, it is beyond me.
This book is a waste of money.
If you would like a bridge book with a "story" I highly recommend "Bridge behind bars".
