I rather fell in love with Lacey and Hawke, such wonderful characters. Lacey, shielded as she grew up in a 'mad hospital' thinking she must be insane for killing her parents in a fire, finds herself a mail order bride to John Winterhawke. He needs a woman like he needs a three legged mule, but is convinced by his friend to give her a chance to show how much help she might be aroubd the ranch. She can't milk the cow, can't cook or sew, and refused point blank to consider doing the 'ghastly things' that wedded couples are meant to. Aside from the amusing aspects to the book, there is a deeper thread around acceptance - of colour, of 'difference' of the fact we need a little sunshine in our days. It is a lovely book well written filled with credible, rounded characters. I enjoyed it. I received a copy of this book from ebookDiscovery. This is my honest freely given review

This was a good book with a lot of information packed into it however it was a good start and end with a bit of fluff in the middle where you were left thinking hurry up! It is not something that I would choose to read again however for a free book to fill a gap it did its purpose.
