This cd should feature in any rock and/or metal fans collection. The tracks are consistently good - from the obvious hits such as "Pretend we're Dead" and "Everglade" right along to the less well known songs like "Scrap". If you have ever had that feeling that people are picking on you or that everyone is against you, then you need to sing along to "Shitlist" and put your life back into perspective! Despite songs like that; the album does have some depth and makes a political comment with its opening track "Wargasm" which will please the more serious minded among you. Whilst it is mostly cool for singing and driving to (nb. keep an eye on your speed if you do this!); there are moments of emotion - mostly notable in the more melodic "One More Thing", which is my personal favourite. If you like Hole, and especially "Live Through This" then this album is for you. There are similarities between the two singers styles, although Courtney Love and Hole have a much greater range and variety in their music than perhaps L7 do.

I bought this album wthout hearing any of it. i expected a raw, badly produced album- which can be good too!
however, the music has an unusual sound- does not copy anyone and keeps a unique style.
It took awhile to grow on me but after listening to it two or three times, i love it.
It is more girl rock than riot grrl- there is not as much screaming as other bands such as Bikini kill and Hole- Still it is a great album.

I had the pleasure of meeting the lead singer at a festival, the one where she removed her feminine hygiene product on stage and shared it with the crowd. They were, and still are unfortunately, little known. Very fine album from a bunch of nutcases from LA, I enjoy it a great deal... Not a "classic" but one of my favourites of the time!

This was my first ever L7 album, and when I first listened to it I thought 'This is pretty boring.' Now I listen to it all the time. It's got really good lyrics and brilliant riffs. My favourites are 'One More Thing' 'Monster' and 'Pretend We're Dead'.
