FWIW, at least this isn't trying to scam folks with a steep price tag. Normally runs for $0.99, which is fair for what you wind up with. I'm glad that my copy was free-fifty-free.
Fine for a *very* quick overview of a newbies very first batch ever, but leaves a lot to be desired if folks want a bit more detail. Good basic info here I suppose, but nothing that wandering into a homebrew store or doing some simple web searches can't provide. John Palmer's famous How To Brew e-book on his website, for example, is just as free, and far-and-away more detailed/inclusive.
I have got two one-gallon jugs on the go to start with. Brewing Beer at Home lists all the kit you need and gives a couple a good recipes and tips on what to do to get that great tasting ale. I hope to save some money by following the procedures here and it all seems to be clear and well highlighted for now. I'll let you know what the beer tastes like when it's done.
