Anyway in summary, great blender works every time without any fuss...
The box arrives and the blender looks gorgeous - very exciting. I washed the blender as instructed and put my ingredients in for a berry and banana smoothie and.... what a NOISE! I blended (or smoothied) for about 40 seconds, after which the blending noise turned into an angry, loud, blending noise, accompanied by a definite burning smell!
Despite the fright, the smoothie came out very well. Also this model is very easy to wash clean. If you wash it straight away after use (or at least put water in it until later) all your gunge just rinses away easily.
I'm accustomed to the noise and smell so on that basis, I would recommend the blender - well end results anyway!
Purchased this after reading review.....and does everything that it should and better....its sturdy, easy to use, great smoothies. Pleased to have it in my kitchen.
The cable winds up underneath and the legs create finger space underneath, so although sturdy, it's easy to lift and manoeuvre. The glass jug has measurements up the side.
Slight disadvantages are that the square lid is a little fiddly and none of it can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
It arrived and looked sturdy, in fact it is just plain sturdy.
It doesn't seem to blend beans such as butternut beans very well, seemingly because of the shape as the food seems to jam in the corners instead of working back towards the middle and the blades.
My major concern, and I was genuinely surprised, is the lack of any form of safety locking feature, like the safety lid on the ATW BL19. This means that your kids, even yourself, can potentially start the blender without having the lid on.
Also, once the jug sits on top of the unit, the lights come on, so it doesn't sit in standby mode like other blenders.
If you need a replacement seal, I found the Kenwood Blender Sealing Ring - Pack of 3 - KEN650544 YS77031 fit. They cost about 3 pounds from yourspares.

This was an expensive purchase and had hardly any use in comparison to a busy kitchen environment. However after 18 months the motor burnt out with smoke filling the kitchen.Published 18 months ago by mr j l craddock
Don't get me wrong, it's good at what it does. However, the lid is very stiff to fit and it's made of rubber with the top bit being a bit flimsy around the edges, which makes me... Read morePublished on 13 April 2011 by Z. Meyer

Very efficient blending but the jug weighs a ton, particularly if pureeing soup. The thick glass jug is heavy even when empty.
Good at toning arm muscles.
A great blender for smoothies but I put a hot stew in it to make soup and cracked the glass : (Published on 4 July 2009 by Mr. Richard Rosson
