Progressive ideology has it that we have never been more moral, advanced, and intelligent than we are today, but all objective signs point to a sharp decline in human genetic fitness over a period of centuries. The decline of memory, creativity, innovation, and even the rise of allergies tells us that our forefathers were not our inferiors but our betters.

In
Breeding the Human Herd, Edward Dutton brings together a massive body of data to explain the causes behind our dysgenic collapse. The picture he paints is a stark one in which increasingly we not only can’t innovate, but can’t even maintain what we have—the implications for the future of civilization are clear. This landmark book is essential reading for any thinking person today.

“This is an excellent book which tells you all you need to know about the crucial, but absurdly taboo, subjects of dysgenics and eugenics.”

Prof. Richard Lynn, author of
Eugenics: A Reassessment and Dysgenics: Genetic Deterioration in Modern Populations

Well sourced and deeply considered. Makes the case for 'liberal eugenics' in some haven citadels or Byzantia of cognitive capacity (even if the author thinks it's too little too late) -- embryo selection, selective immigration, and anti-natalist monetary compensation for those with dysgenic genomes.

Once again, another excellent Dutton opus. Something for everyone - my personal favourite was the chapter on the history of Eugenics. Plus I learnt what an 'oocyte' is. I recommend without reservation.

Strangely enjoyable look at how civilisation leads to barbarism due to dysgenic practices. Very well-written, lucid, cold, occasionally amusing.

Our brightest are being outbred by the less bright and this is leading to falling IQs. Dutton is brave to have brought up this problem but seems pessimistic about things improving.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eugenics is all about having HEALTHY, INTELLIGENT children, not breeding a better "race".

Many people attach the Nazi holocaust with eugenics.
The Nazis were into GENOCIDE & ethnic cleansing not eugenics.

Eugenics is all about improving our gene pool, reducing or eliminating some serious, horrible genetic defects that cause so much suffering today.
Don't was all want healthy, intelligent children?

This isn't about "race" or "religion", it's about a healthy, intelligent population & we could have that through planned pregnancies.
Those who carry serious genetic defects like type one diabetes, cystic fibrosis & some serious heart defects should not be having children with those same, awful defects.

Of course there will be many people who want the RIGHT to have children no matter how they turn out or how much they suffer. They will have children anyhow & their children will suffer, many will die early after much suffering. It doesn't have to be that way.

I have seen such children, it's HORRIBLE how they suffer & "live" & too often, DIE EARLY. Hopefully EDUCATION will encourage more people to plan their pregnancies by removing EARLY in pregnancy those that have serious genetic defects.

Here's to a future with fewer serious genetic defects that cause pain & suffering.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book is About Genes and the Collapse of Societies
Reviewed in the United States on 11 February 2024
    Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase
This book talks about dysgenics more than it talks about eugenics, but eugenics certainly is mentioned. In short, the book states that the pressures on society which help cull the human herd of weakness and disease are not there anymore because we have made things easy for society. As a result, less intelligent and less healthy people are surviving and bringing down the average IQ. Sooner or later, if trends continue, the author predicts a future collapse of society and mentions the Roman Empire as an example. You will probably find this book controversial as it mentions abortion and euthanasia as examples of eugenics and argues that assisting poor or defective people in their breeding will increase poverty and defective people by breeding more of them.
