I literally stayed up half the night reading until I couldn't see anymore. I love this family, nearly as much as the author does.
Tyson really grows into himself and begins to find his way. I wanted to devour the story but also didn't want it to end!
I am now going to go back and re-read the first two books and wait patiently (cough!) for the last (sniffle) book.
Fans of this series won't be disappointed and if you're a newbie to it, you really need to read the first two books to appreciate the whole story.
I shall read the other two books just because the story telling of TJ Klune is so damn good and I want to see how Bear and Otter meet and everything that entails.
This was just so refreshing to read, it grabs you and pulls you along for the rollercoaster ride and when you get off you still want more. I never wanted it to end.
This was a road trip extraordinaire! Characters from previous BOATK novels feature prominently, characters from other novels by Mr Klune are re-introduced and also feature prominently.
Kid, Tyson has matured, he has become his brother, he is no longer the precocious kid of previous novels, he has matured and he is lost, but also found as Dom takes centre stage in his life.
I loved it. Hopefully we, the reader will discover more in the next instalment. We need to know more about Bear and Kid's sister Isobel, and Dom's son, and Bear and Otter's attempt to adopt or have a baby via surrogate.
A most definite 5 star story for me.
here we get another insight to the rollercoaster that is the McKenna boys. you don't have to have read the previous books but it is such a richer experience if you have. Now it's the kids turn. The earthquakes. The bathtub. The monologues. Bear and Otter. they're all still there, but so much was expected for the kid, notably by the kid himself, maybe that was the problem. but he gets there in the end. and the end is so much sweeter for what he endures to get there. I laughed, I cried ( only a little bit, n o t a full on bear like episode I promise)
if you've read the series there is nothing I can tell you that will make you read this book, if you haven't read it, then you need to start at the beginning. it will be worth it.I promise.
It is fantastic, love the characters and the story is so believable. A real love story.
One thing though - please don't make us wait another two years for the follow up!
If you haven't read the other Bear, Otter and the Kid books, buy them now and they will take you on a hilarious and sad rollercoaster journey and, with the inclusion of characters from 'Tell me it's real', you have to read that too before you start 'The Art of Breathing'.
BTW, I'm still chuckling at the rabbit joke Creed tells JJ ..... Maybe one day, there will be a JJ story to be told!!
Well what to say. I could not wait for to kids story and it did not disappoint.
As funny as ever and also had me crying with laughter and sadness. I also lv that Paul and vince where in there (tell me it's real).
It has all the usual people in there and it was everything I wanted and more for this lovely wonderful family. Looking forward to the last instalment although I can't wait to read it. Please take ur time and do these guys justice for the end. Loved it. Going to start from the beging again love them : )
