Format: Audio CD
The selling point for this comp are the breaks contained therein which have been ransacked by various Hip Hop artists. But ignore that and listen to these for what they are, essential jazz, funk and soul from 70's Black America just as juicy now as when they came off the press and at a ludicrously cheap price.

HASH(0x8fd62558) out of 5 stars Quest to Beat the Best 21 May 2009
By Dj for dj's - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
Everybody and their Grandmamma sells dope and listens to Hip Hop. The Golden era has passed and all the old hip hop heads are in their 30's and 40's, all lamenting about how Hip Hop has falling off. The new breed of Dj's can play 90's hip hop but no one is impressed. So what to do?, play the original breaks!!, This sounds fresher than the hip hop records that sampled it. Get into the mind of Rakim when he wrote In the Ghetto, or Kool G Rap when he wrote Ill Street Blues. Its awesome to cherry pick samples in your mind
