I had read the reviews for this book , like i normally do. But you generally take them with a pinch of salt .. well i do. This book gripped me right from the begining just like others say !

Right to the end ,it keeps you on the edge of your seat !

I shall be reading more of this author that's for sure !

Don't think about it ... at this price and with these reviews - just buy it !

I'm glad i did !

I'm the type of person who will read most types of books but this one I found very hard to put down. The twists and turns in the plot were amazing and I wouldn't have guessed the ending. When I was about a quarter of the way through I couldn't think what else could be added to the plot but it just got better. So often a story will be so packed with different twists that they are unbelievable but this must have been well researched. Will look out for more by this author

Breaking Away
I have recently read the fantastic Dividing Line series by this author, and it seemed the next thing to do was start this series.
book one Breaking away- Starts off with Laura and Daryl in what I would call a not so great relationship. Its only after a lottery win she decides to leave, but has left it a little late, and Daryl turns into a major monster..
She soon enters a new relationship with Daryls best friends, The big hunky Zak. But will she ever be rid of Daryl, will he really let her leave and move on so easily?
The story starts to build right from the beginning, and to be honest it just has you gripped the whole way through, a really "need to keep reading book...
I thouroughly enjoyed the read and the Characters are realistic, to the point many times i found myself wanting to punch them, or shout out at them. And at one point I also filled up with tears, sooooo glad i was on my own at that point.

Contains sex, strong language, violence and scenes of domestic abuse.

I was put off by the 'oh so perfect' characters, the washboard stomach, the long flowing hair, the teeny tiny waist and the incredible green eyes, yuk, so sick of these wishy washy characters with no substance. Personally I like a character I can relate to and that is not Barbie and Ken! Bring on a few lumps, bumps and wrinkles! I know a bit of escapism is good but this was just too unbelievable, no one is that perfect!! The main character Laura is flat and dull with no personality. Considering she had suffered such horrific sexual and physical abuse as well as being almost murdered, I don't think she would be so keen to jump into bed so quickly with the equally flat and 2 dimensional Zak who just makes me feel just a weeny bit sick. It was all a little too convenient that Laura just happened to have won the lottery before leaving her abusive husband. How many women get stuck in awful relationships because they can't afford to split from their partners? I wasn't convinced that the author was fully informed about certain issues regarding detective work among other legal issues. I'm no legal expert myself but it just didn't feel right. I didn't feel Zak was a very convincing police officer either, more like a model for Kays catalogue or a shop assistant in Next. I can understand to a certain extent where some of the better reviews may have come from but to be honest it was lacking any real depth for me. I doubt I will bother with this author again.

Wow, What a brilliant book. Read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. Didn't finish it til after midnight and up early that day, but it was worth the tiredness. You did not know what was gonna happen next, once you calmed down as you think there couldn't possibly else that would happen, you were on the edge of your seat yet again. Am going to read the other books in the series as well. I expect them to be just as good and can't wait.

Downloaded this when it was a free download, but having read it I would gladly have paid for it. The book hits the floor running and the pace never lets up, certainly burnt the midnight oil with this one.

There were so many twists and turns in this book I just had to keep reading the next chapter to see what happened next and just when you think the book is coming to the end and things will be neatly wrapped up WHAM there are some real stings in the tail that I didn't see coming.

My only regret is that I can't give it more than 5*'s.

My husband and I really enjoyed this book and the whole trilogy. Must be read in order though, Breaking Away, Dead Eyed Dad then End game. Action packed and gets straight into the plot.
