Product description

Marital and relationship breakdown is rife, with 40% of all marriages in the UK ending in divorce. The emotional fall-out from the trauma of a break-up is incalculable. Most will experience draining emotional negativity: for example, they worry no one else will ever want them; or they can't let go of the their ex and live for the day when he or she realises that it's all a big mistake and comes back. Sometimes they seek revenge and damage themselves more than the person they hope to hurt. Others will sink into a general malaise where all pleasure is lost. Here London-based radio Heart FM's popular relationship counsellor Dr Pam Spurr offers a emotional rescue to help those struggling through a break-up throw off excess negative energy through positive living. Packed with tips and advice plus practical assistance in the form of questionnaires, checklists, dilemmas and strategies, Dr Pam's Break-up Survival Kit tackles the problems of moving on, and offers new directions to allow the broken-hearted to rebuild their lives and act positively.

About the Author

Dr Pam Spurr is well known in the media as a psychologist with strong views about many topics. As well as hosting her own, Sony award-winning radio programme, 'Dr. Pam's Heart to Heart', she has contributed as a guest/expert to hundreds of television and radio programmes over the last ten years. Dr. Pam also has a column in Sunday Magazine, News of the World. She is also the author of two previous books, Understanding Your Child's Dreams (1999), and You and Him (2000). Dr Pam has herself experienced divorce, but is now happily married for the second time, proving you can survive a break-up, and move on with your life! Her son (born when she was a psychology degree student) is now 19 and her daughter is 16.
