Product description
Meat Loaf, the rock legend who along with songwriter/producer Jim Steinman broke sales records with the classic multi-platinum albums “Bat Out of Hell” and “Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell,” announces their reunion on the new album “Braver Than We Are” featuring 10 new Steinman songs performed as only Meat Loaf can! The project also showcases another reunion with vocalists Ellen Foley and Karla DeVito ( vocalists from the smash hit “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” ) on the epic song and first single ‘Going All The Way’.

I have loved Meat Loaf for many years and have grown old with the 'Bat out of Hell' albums so it is fitting that as he sings about the later stages of life his voice is not so strong - comes to us all. The lyrics are very moving and if you too have grown up with this music it is very easy to relate to them - ummmmm to easy some may say they certainly make you think. Play it along side the other Bat out of hell series and you will hear the passing of time - excellent thank you

Not the best from Meatloaf. His voice has in my opinion has definitely gone. The passion to sing is there, but not the rock n roll edgy voice I've come to love over the years from Meatloaf. Jim Stienman is good, but Meatloaf does no justice to his music. I've seen Meatloaf live & I'd like to remember him in the years gone by. I wish this CD would never have been made. People will unfortunately remember Meatloaf for this disasterous latest CD. I didn't put on my iPod because it's that bad.
Please everyone remember Meatloaf by his past wonderful music with Jim Steinman. Forget about this CD it does NOT do Meatloaf any justice for ALL the music with Jim Stienman.
I only gave it three stars because it's Meatloaf. Time to call it a day & let us the Fans remember you the way you were.

Yes, Meatloaf is not the magnificent powerhouse he was in his youth, but time catches up with us all and it is still wonderful to hear that Steinman / Meatloaf combination just one more time. Nostalgic, true, but there are some good songs on here too. Quite theatrical, you can see it being a stage musical and maybe Jim Steinman had that in mind as he penned some of these songs for what I understand may well be the last album from these two. The supporting vocals from the ladies are great too and the inclusion of some old lyrics/extracts once sung by Bonnie Tyler reminds us that Steinman's sound wasn't exclusively brought to us by Meatloaf back in the day. It's an album for the oldies who grew up with Bat out of Hell and all those other Meatloaf hits to wallow in those memories of the past but also to enjoy these new songs, albeit sung with a rather quavering and weaker voice than we remember from the glory days of all our youth.

It's alright. If that comes across as being damned with faint praise, it should. It isn't great. It isn't bad. It's alright.
As a fan of Meatloaf and Jim, I listened to it. The problem is, the minute it ended, I'd forgotten it. Ask me now and I can't name one of the tracks, couldn't hum any of the music, unable to sing any of the lyrics
I doubt any of the tracks here would have made it as a B side to any of the 'Bat Out Of Hell' single releases. They probably wouldn't have made it onto the track list of 'Bat III - The Monster Is Loose' either.
If, as me, you're a fan of the pair, buy it in support. If you enjoy it, even better.

I was hoping for a triumphant goodbye and Steinman songs worthy of the occasion.
What we have here is mediocre production at best and recycled Steinman and a poor recycling choice at that.
I think Meatloaf deserved far better than this. His work ethic is phenomenal, his shows really are shows rather than concerts and he has always presented a larger than life character.
This album is like visiting a favourite Uncle and experiencing the shock of realising that someone you always thought of as big and strong is now older than you thought and frail

This is horrible, been a huge fan of his for 35 years but his voice has gone, he should have never released it,
he is wailing more than singing, he should have admitted his voice had gone, thanked us his fans for our
loyalty over the years and quit. The reviews for this album have not been good - indeed some of them are
brutal. Should have been a good album but unfortunately this is not the case. Why it was ever released I will never
know. In fact I sold this one to a friend, hated it so much.

His voice is gone. Jim Steinman is back. The original Bat singers are back. His less powerful voice is actually compelling. All songs are from Steinman, but everything was recorded by someone before. I don't know if it is his last album, since he's recovering from the back pains, but it would be a good goodbye if that's the case.
I would change the track order, though. Purists may call this the real Bat 3? The jury is still out.

Arrived next day which was amazing as I'd requested standard delivery, suitably packaged. As a meatloaf fan I was looking forward to listening to this new album but was very disappointed with it! The vocals are awful it sounds like a pub singer, very disappointed is an understatement, just does not sound like meatloaf the odd note you can detect previous work but on the whole I think it is poor!
