5.0 out of 5 stars A hymn to the HM golden years at its best ! 2 Jan. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Running Wild is one of various great Teutonic bands appeared during 80's. Their first two albuns (the first was "Gates to Purgatory") and the debut 12"Single (very rare) "Victims of States Power" are pure cult for all real Power Metal fans, unfortunately RW has become more comercial like lots of other HM born bands... but listen to tracks as "Murdor", "Branded and Exiled" and "Chains and Leather" and remember some of the best moments of the golden years ! A must !
5.0 out of 5 stars Classic 80's metal goodness 24 Feb. 2013
By Deimos - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Great album from start to finish. This album is simply classic, the riffs, vocals, subject matter, lyrics and overall sound is everything I love about classic metal. It's not thrash per say but it's classic heavy metal. I love the first two albums by this band before they went into pirate metal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent German Satanic Metal from the Mid-80s 10 April 2008
By Octavius - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This german band is one of the more decent satanic metal bands to come out of Europe in the mid-80s but nothing compared to Mercyful Fate.

Pretty simple arrangements in terms of music but the lyrics are decent and so are the solos. The singers guttural voice suits the themes just fine. The best song on this album is probably 'Mordor' followed by 'Branded and Exiled' and 'Realm of Shades.' The rest is just average.

Leagues behind Mercyful Fate in terms of musical talent and songwriting but worth an ear.
