When Bruno Gmunder released the graphic novel Bike Boy and Hot For Boys - The Sexy Adventures of Rogue, as well as the soon to be released Bike Boy Rides Again, it was hoped that the publisher might look to Him's Gay Library, which was a series of illustrated text novels published in the early 1980s by Him Publications. The first in the library was Boys Of Vice City, a delightfully homo-erotic story of love and lust beautifully illustrated by Oliver Frey, otherwise known as Zack.
And now the dream comes true as that original story is reproduced in its entirety in a handy-size book and contains the fabulous artwork of Zack. Hopefully, this will be the first in a series, reprinting all the original Him Gay Library.
Lovers of homo-erotic art and homo-erotic storytelling will want to add this book to their library although it should be advised that anyone offended by gay sex should definitely refrain from purchasing...or at least think about it, or maybe purchase for a friend as a gift, or simply allow their curiosity to get the better of them. Definitely for adults only, though!

Gil is a cute young guy from California, whose sexy looks get him a job on a film set in Rome. Given that the author/illustrator is Zack, Gil quickly finds himself in a series of lusciously lewd adventures, lovingly illustrated. The secret of the book's success is that Gil is genuinely innocent as well as insatiably horny, his charm is captivating and the adventures arousing. A classic.

Boys of Vice City is a series of sexual encounters between a young man (who has been employed to help on a film set that takes him to Italy) and other film crew members, actors and locals. The stories are the reminiscences of this young man, now a film director himself, memories awakened when he catches sight of a young crew member who reminds him of the naive young man he once was. The book is well written and the encounters that fill each chapter make for an enjoyable Roman romp with the main character Gil Graham. It is also a coming of age story as Gil discovers more of the real world and what you have to do to make your way in it.
