About the Author

Formerly a freelance journalist, Novelle has found placement of her pieces in both online and print publications since 2008. Additionally, she has written multiple screenplays, and contributed her writing to many non-profit and for profit organizations. She has launched several blogs over the years, which garnered international attention. In 2013, Novelle returned to her first love – fiction. Writing under the names Renee Novelle and R.S. Novelle, she has a publication schedule that includes Psychological Thrillers, Suspense, Paranormal Fiction, Contemporary Women’s fiction, Chick Lit, and New Adult. Though she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication, summa cum laude, she considers herself a constant student of the written word. She’s an avid reader, an enthusiastic quote poster, and rarely takes “no” as a final answer. She has an unhealthy obsession for theater, dance, music and art, and strongly believes that wine is simultaneously the beginning of, and resolution to, all of life’s problems. She believes in following dreams, and that in the end, you always end up where you meant to be. The Boyfriend List is book one in Renee Novelle’s Boyfriend series, written in the third person to me something is taken away from the story. I feel like you can’t make the same emotional connection as you can when a book is written in the first person. The writing is good but with a little editing it could be great. The mistakes were small ones like mixing up ‘where’ and ‘were’
and a couple of sentences repeated themselves, but other than that it was good.
This book takes place in the space of a week and starts with Raegan and Petra meeting up after spring break to catch up on what they got up to over the holiday. Petra tells of her conquests and Raegan then has to tell Petra how her Spring Break took a turn for the worst. Her boyfriend lied to her about what he was doing then got caught because a picture of him and the girl he cheated on Reagan with was put on a social media site. Of course Reagan broke up with him but then her insecurities come out and she’s convinced she’ll never find the ‘perfect’ man.
Petra has this idea of making a list of qualities the perfect man for Reagan should have so starts the crazy ‘boyfriend list’.
Reagan’s best friend Ian comes back at what could be considered the best or worst possible time depending from which point of view its looked at. Petra immediately has the idea that infact the perfect man has been in front of Reagan all along she’s just been blind to it. But that's it once Petra has planted that seed it had Reagan all kinds of confused not know who or what she want’s anymore. Things between Ian and Reagan change that night, the lines blur but who knows how far. It has Reagan questioning if they were ever just friends or if there was always an undertone of something more.

I love lists, they provide order and control in our lives...but a list describing the perfect guy? Is that just setting us up for disappointment. Can any person match up to the expectations of a list?

Well Reagan certainly believes so. That's how her life works...order, precision and predictability. After finding out her boyfriend spent the holidays with another girl, Reagan is very disillusioned about love and relationships.

So with list in hand she seeks the perfect guy with the attributes on her list. After a couple of mediocre dates Reagan soon realises all that she has been right in front of her the whole time...her best guy friend Ian.

When they both finally give in to their feelings for each, things start to really fall in to place them...things are going perfectly...until insecurity and a boyfriend stealing nemesis is back for more.

Gorgeous characters that are easy to fall in love with. I can't wait to see what Ms Novelle has in store for book 2 in the series...
