A lot of the information in this book is available elsewhere on the internet, but I think the problem with relying solely on the internet instead of buying a book such as this is that the internet is full of contradictory advice, and for a first time dog owner this can be very confusing! It is great to be able to rely on the advice from one qualified source, and as this book is so complete it is a great option. It could do with a section on poisonous plants and household chemicals and what to do if your Boxer ingests them though!
My only slight problem with this book is the region specific information. It would be great if there was a UK edition so that breed standards, clubs and societies were relative to us in the UK. The ear cropping is a contrevosial issue, and it would be nice if there were more pictures with Boxers with un-cropped ears.
Overall an easy, informative and relatively deep read, which is very honest when dealing with the issues surrounding Boxers as a breed, and will serve you as a great resource. It is nice to have a book specific to the Boxer rather than puppies/dogs in general.
