This is the first book I have read by this author and I have read so many good reviews that I had to give this one ago after reading the blurb.

The story starts off when Cooper sleeps with Paris, a femme fatal. He wakes to find she has stolen his $1m bottle of bourbon claiming it belongs to her. He manages to stop her escaping with the bottle and gets her to tell him the story of it's existence. So begins the forbidden love story of Levi & Tamara and the Maddox family legacy. The story switches between the 1980's and present day.

All I can say is WOW! Amazing! Family secrets were laid bare at every turn even right up to the very last page Ms Reisz had us all guessing. Some secrets I thought I had worked out and others came as a sucker punch. I had Levi and Tamara on loop in my head morning, noon and night. This really was a book I struggled to put down, it kept me awake well in to the early hours of the morning. I even shed a tear at the end. The story was captivating, mesmerising and truly gripping from the very first page.

I haven't read any other books by Tiffany Riesz, but this author has just shot in to my top 5 authors that I would 'read anything they write' list. I will now be working my way through her other books.

I have read many of Tiffany's books, all the Original Sinners series and a few of her short stories. This book is one of her best. I found it quite moving, both sad and happy at the same time. I liked the way the two stories came together at the end. I didn't guess who Paris was, didn't guess her parentage. Recommend this book highly.

It's not what you expect from this fantastic author! !!!! It's so different from what I've read of hers previously this is a far cry from her bdsm novels but still just as captivating. It makes you understand how hard it was for different cultures to live as one many years ago but still understanding how beautiful it is to love.

Tiffany Reisz is the ultimate writer. I was gripped from the first paragraph and finished it in record time because I couldn't put it down.

Tamara is a very strong young girl, who fought for what she wanted and in the end she succeed and brought the Maddox's down. The love between Tamara and Levi was so special...I laughed with them...cried with them and hated with them. They stood together through it all...that is the very very best kind of love.

Outstanding Tiffany x you are one very special lady. Keep writing these amazing stories.

Love from a fellow Sinner!!!

Dark, gritty, and impressively compelling!

This novel takes you into the lives of, the multi-generational bourbon maker family, the Maddoxes. They are rich. They are southern. And they are ruthless. And like most families with privilege, money, and power, they have a lot of skeletons in their closets, and hidden behind those closed doors you will find an intricate web of abuse, lies, adultery, secrets, and murder.

The characters are complex, avaricious, vindictive, and self-destructive. And the plot is well written, rich in detail, and highly suspenseful.

This really is a truly engaging and captivating story and I only hope that I will get to enjoy more of the Cooper and Paris saga in the future.
