Like Churchill's pudding there were times when it seemed to lack a theme. In no way was it as scandalous as some reviewers more than hinted it was and it is obvious that there is a lot more to Mike Daunt than fishing and fornication: obviously there are many sides to this man. This book really only shows one.
Mike should have toned down the fishing and concentrated on the human contacts with the help of a good editor.
Time in his company is never boring and always enriching. Modern convention usually stifles such characters so enjoy the book and laugh out loud, you certainly will if you have any soul or passion in you.
Read, enjoy and be envious.
Having now read it, I'm glad I did. A great read about a man who has had an adventurous (to say the least!) life. I would highly recommend this book.
