"Featuring delicious prose and tantalizing situations, these authors get right to the heart of BDSM and lay it bare. From breathlessness to vivid images of Mars to the pleasure found in a soft length of rope, each story in "Bound for Trouble is intense, fully present, and ripe with anticipation. It will make you sigh, grit your teeth at a well-delivered line (or lick), and leave you wanting more."

"Tyler's next (superb) hot collection."
"I also recommend the work of Alison Tyler. Are they feminist? That is so hard to say, but I never feel bad about myself or my sexuality after reading the work she write[s] and curate[s]."
--Roxane Gay, author of "Bad Feminist"
"These short BDSM-themed pieces cover everything from spanking to suspension, so you're sure to find something that caters to your specific dark twisted fantasies."

Tied Up and Ready
"Bound for Trouble" serves up every kinkster's dream. Alison Tyler, queen of flogging fiction, has taken exquisite pains to collect the very best BDSM stories for your reading pleasure, with each tale focusing on a different facet of the bondage theme. The players in this spellbinding collection will send shivers down your spine, whether they use cuffs, just words, rope or even paper chains! Are you hooked yet? Teresa Noelle Roberts shows how a chest harness and an oh-so-carefully knotted rope corset can induce the hypnotic bliss of "Ropenosis." Daddy's little girl has a really good time with "Sex Party Magic" and puts on quite a show for the onlookers in Kristy Lin Billuni's tale. D. L. King's "My Pretty Pony" involves power play, imagination and a pair of very kinky boots. There are male subs, femme dommes and switches of every stripe in between. Just for you.

The bondage in these stories is both literal and figurative, another aspect of the collection that I really enjoyed. In Tamsin Flowers‘s fabulous story, “Coffee or Tea,” the narrator finds herself “hog-tied, wrists bound to ankles with silky red rope, in the swanky riverside apartment of some guy that, until just over an hour ago, I had never laid eyes on.” What follows is a completely delightful descent into just that sort of trouble that I was talking about–the kind you flirt with over drinks, all the while hoping it takes you home.
In Annabeth Leong‘s beautiful story, “Paper Chains” on the other hand, the bondage is much more emotional. Yes, the protagonist allows her wife to tie her up, but she does it with paper chains–fragile little things that could never really hold her. What really keeps the protagonist in place is her connection to her wife, whom she trusts to pleasure in ways that, up to that point, she has tried to avoid. It’s a beautiful, delicate, sexy story featuring the kind of trouble that changes you, often for the better.
Even when a scenario wasn't my personal freaky thang (to use the proper technical term), I was always intrigued by the story. I particularly enjoyed the femdom stories (especially Amy Dillon's "Magic Boots"), and was thrilled to see an m/m tale. There's an appealing blend of sweetness and roughness here: the "sugar kink" stories don't lack any intensity whatsoever, while the grittier pieces are still suffused with tender feelings. I don't see why this had to be categorized as being "for women," since it's about as universally compelling as BDSM can get.
