About the Author

Francis Maximilien Yvan Christophe Boulle is a 24-year-old diamond mining heir and IT entrepreneur and one of the bright, young stars of the cult hit, Made in Chelsea. When not running one of his many businesses, Francis can be found playing Polo in Argentina, surfing in Kauai or soaking up the sun at the Monaco Grand Prix. Francis is CEO of www.fundmine.com and has been ranked by Tatler as one of London's most eligible young men for three years running. This is his first book.

Boulle's Jewels is a funny guide to 'the business of life' by Made in Chelsea star, Francis Boulle or should I say Francis Maximilien Yvan Christophe Boulle (yes, that is his real name). On the show, Francis is someone a lot of people like laughing at and it's usually quite hard to tell whether he's being serious or joking when he does ridiculous things. Francis is an entrepreneur and heir to a diamond business so he's living the high life, but does lots of work too (I think). He's a bit of an oddball, but he's pretty lovable and definitely one of my favourite characters on the show.

I was under the impression that this entire book was dedicated to tips on business and being an entrepreneur but whilst the book starts out like that, after the midway point this book descends into random tips about random things from a list of Francis' favourite films to 'picnic protocol'. Whilst these sections in the second half were equally interesting to read about, I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that there weren't more 'insightful' tips on the wonderful world of business given that this book is actually categorized under 'Business'. That said, one of the great thing about this book is that you have absolutely no idea what's going to be waiting for you when you turn the page. It was quite exciting to read this book because it is so unpredictable and Francis offers his unique perspective on life, dating, even must-have pets.

If you're not a fan of Made In Chelsea or you don't know who Francis Boulle is then don't bother reading this book - you won't enjoy it or find it funny. This book is definitely aimed at people who already have an idea of who Francis is, the type of life he leads and what his personality is like.

This book is 100% worth a read, had me in stitches throughout, i do think its funnier if you watch Made in Chelsea (as i do) and get a feel of what Francis is about, but regardless its a definite mood lifter! very tongue in cheek and light hearted fun :)ive purchased 6 copies as stocking fillers so lets hope my friends and family agree! (plus i think hes gorgeous and the little picture on the front makes my day :P)

This book is short sharp analysis of every day life, and is perfect for cheering up your lousy days. Several laugh out loud moments, this ones going straight into my bathroom joke book collection, and my niece and nephew's who are huge fans of M in C stockings.

Well - you have to hand it to one of my favourite Made in Chelsea characters. He's managed to extract money from me, even though the book is not really a book - more a collection of sticky notes - 4 or 5 to a page in my reckoning. Still, there were moments of humour and it was a very QUICK read!!!!

I read the sample and found it pretty amusing, so figured it was worth a shot. However, as it goes on, it loses some of the initial spark and it's all just a bit mindless. If anyone genuinely buys this hoping for a mantra on life, you're screwed, but there's a few chuckle moments, it's light-hearted, but definitely runs out of some initally promising material.

I bought this book as a gift and so was disappointed when it arrived dusty and with the edges of the front cover bashed.
Also I was disappointed to find the book to be a relatively slim and by no means weighty tome.
Cannot yet comment on the content.

Boulle's Jewels is a great read! Full of terrific humor, as well as great advice. (I suspect his parents have been and continue to be awesome role models!) He's right, there are not many finance/business books written by young adults for other young adults. His tips are sure to educate and inspire other young people to be fearless in pursuing business and entrepreneurial goals. Being an entrepreneur myself, I can say he's right about so many things, especially the need to network all the time and just about anywhere. I will pass this entertaining and informative book on to my daughter who's in college currently studying business. I look forward to the next book from this talented young man.
