to listen to this guy carefully. I've heard bits and pieces over the years but never really gave him a chance. At some point in the dim and distant past I must have bought into the Marillion / poor man's Genesis thing. Fish deserved better than that. Thankfully a Classic Rock mag sampler with 'Cold day in Hell' put that to rights and I must say this is a great collection of material. OK, maybe it is the pick of the bunch but I find the themes and textures of the material and his delivery to be superb. Next chance I get I will try to catch him live (sorry, that was an unintentional pun). He has a tremendous following here in Germany so I will expect a tour sometime soon. This album is a tremendous buy and is bound to provide many hours of pleasure. It took me some time but I am convert! Bouillabaisse is a very tasty dish indeed and as a double CD something of a main course!

This double CD, Bouillabaisse - The best of Fish just goes to showcase his amazing lyrical & vocal talents from ballads such as Just good friends (with Sam Brown) & the deeply moving 'A Gentlemans Excuse Me' to his more rocking numbers such as 'Incommunicado', 'Big Wedge' & my personal favourite 'Moving Targets'.
Fish has been at he top of the prgressive rock game for 25 years now and I would thoroughly recommend this album to long time fans & new fans.

A great collection, with a few of the older Marillion tracks thrown in for good measure.
When Fish and Marillion parted company, the pundits screamed that both would disappear without trace. Both however have maintained a hardcore following, with Marillion being one of the best "e-marketed" bands in the world. Still relevant? Absolutely.
This collection should please old and new alike. There is something here for everyone-the early solo material like "Big Wedge" & "The Company" still stand head and shoulders above the rest for me, but the later stuff is good to hear to, and the man certainly has not lost his touch

I went to see Marillion at the BIRMINGHAM N.E.C on their "Misplaced" tour fantastic..since Fish has left Marillion i have to admit iv'e neglected him a lot..i purchased the Virgil CD..since then nothing...i went on AMAZON a few weeks ago and purchased two albums..this being one...I won't go into the technical stuff..guitarists etc, I just play the album and listen to the overall effect..and this is a fantastic album, excellent value as well, just the job to get back into Fish, a first class singer, a superb writer of material and a great judge of musicians.. I think now of what Iv'e been missing all this time..all the tracks in my opinion are superb...this album throws everything at you and you just soak it up and want more...The sound is brilliant on an iPod to, you just drift off with him...Fish sings a few of his old tracks from way back when but its good as this is how I remember him but he also proves that he's moved on as well and now I can hear all the new stuff to, which as i said is fantastic...good on yer' Fish

This is a superb 2 cd collection showcasing the solo career of former Marillion frontman Fish. One cd has Ballads the other has Rockers and it's worth every penny Even if your not a fan of Fish this collection has something for everyone. Fish is underated as a solo artist and this proves why. Includes the hits Kayleigh, Big Wedge, and Brother 52. A must have for any music fan.

After many years of NOT listening to Marillion I found a couple of early albums in my loft. Fish has always been the lead singer as far as I am concerend and it was fantastic to listen to tracks I had never heard before.
