4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Read 7 May 2017
By GoldStar - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This was cute. I came across it because the cover stood out. It was a bit confusing at times because there's so many characters in the book so it was hard to keep up, when it was solely focused on 2. I didn't think everyone else was needed. Other than that, I have a feeling where the next story will lead so I hope it's not too predictable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes a second glance is all you need... 21 April 2017
By Marie Friggin Skye - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
"She told him to go and find his match. He'd been confused because he'd believed he had."

This was my first book by the lovely and talented Rose Silverstone, and I cannot wait to get the rest of this story.
We're introduced to a very family oriented setting, that's gathered around for Christmas. From there on, awkwardness ensues. Eric, the main character is there with his model girlfriend, whom I can only describe as a complete airhead, but little does he know, the person he actually really want to be with Serenity, was also invited to spend the holidays with his family.
Between unspoken words, and glances from the family, it's clear, which one they prefer.
But does Eric know? That's what we need to find out.
4.0 out of 5 stars Skilled Storytelling that Lays The Groundwork for a Strong Series 5 Jan. 2017
By Kilby Blades - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
True to its title, "Botched Proposal" finds the male lead, Eric, submarined from his plans to propose to his girlfriend Lorna over Christmas holidays when an old flame, Serenity, shows up at his large family's holiday gathering. It is not merely the presence of his ex that prevents him from being able to carry out his proposal, but the complexities that arise when old feelings are dredged up, his family clearly dislikes his soon-to-be fiancee, and certain events cause him to see numerous characters in a different light. It is a short, satisfying read that presents the core conflict of the story as well as a few hearty sub-plots, and a complex cast of characters who will be the foundation for a story that will take much longer to unfold.

I really enjoyed the author's natural storytelling style, which had a kind of stream of consciousness to it that meandered fluidly through current action, contextual storytelling, and flashbacks/memories. Right from the beginning, I could see that there was a fully-baked sense of setting, characterizations, plot, history, and other core elements of the story. It is rare to find a book that has so many characters who are so fully developed and her writing really stood up to that kind of complexity.

With that said, this book may not be for readers who prefer straightforward, jump-right-in action. With so many characters and a complex plot, this book spends a lot of time laying groundwork. Patient readers who love intricacy, detail and a slower kind of burn will love it, whereas less patient readers may wish for more action up front. Overall, I thought it was a satisfying read with a bit of a surprise ending that has me excited for the next installment!
5.0 out of 5 stars Lorna Horner.... LMAO!! 5 Jan. 2017
By Faerie-bookworm - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Title: Botched Proposal
Author: Rose Silverstone
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance
Format: Ebook
Pages: 115
Rating: 5
Heat: 3

Thoughts: After finishing this I had to contact the author... "OMG I hate you right now ... I just finished the book. I also love you right now cause Lorna Horner is the most hilarious name and man is she a bitch. Lol". Needless to say this is a cliffhanger but so worth it!! I love all the characters and can't wait to find out what happens next. I'm really not sure why Eric is even with a woman like Lorna Horner (giggle), but it definitely adds to the story. Be sure to grab a copy and fall in love with a family that is the epitome of love and support.
