I ordered one for to stop white noise on my PC to my Behringer 1832USB Mixer, after it did the trick, I ordered 2 more for some other stereo inputs and they are all working perfectly and a permanent addition to my set up, well recommended if you want to get rid of white noise and humming.

Was having problems with buzzing from my speakers, fairly quiet while playing music but louder while playing games. This ground lift got rid of the buzz completely.

I ordered this to try and silence ground loop noise on my Mac speakers. I had done some reading on the net and this seemed like it might be the cure for the loud buzzing I was experiencing with my external speaker setup.

Sadly, the net result of installing this filter was that the noise actually significantly INCREASED!

Disappointed, I then checked with the seller, caraudiosecurityuk and received a reply stating "If the product has been returned to us and there is no fault found, you are liable for all carriage costs and the time we spend on the unit diagnosing the fault. This charge will be £25.00 (which includes the carriage back)". I didn't fancy taking £25 worth of risk, so I binned it.

I've since cured the buzzing by buying a good quality screened audio lead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely eliminated hum between computer and home sound system! 11 Aug. 2014
By Mike B. - Published on Amazon.com

I had a serious ground hum/buzz issue when I plugged my desktop computer audio output into my home stereo system. I purchased this BOSS B25N Ground Loop Isolator and placed it in line between the computer and the stereo system. The problem was solved immediately. The computer channel is now free of background noise. Note: I did not realize that this unit is designed primarily for automotive audio systems when I bought it. However, it works perfectly in my home sound system.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Little Noise Filter 31 Mar. 2016

Pros:
+ Does what it says on the tin - cuts noise significantly to the point where it can't be heard unless you turn the volume on your amp/output up to near full blast (which you'll probably never get to, since you'll probably either distort your signal or damage your equipment by this point).

+ Although maybe not a ground loop situation (and closer to EMI or cross-talk on the ground), it also does a good job at cleaning up the onboard audio card on a computer quite nicely. In combination with ferrite chokes, the result was a little better than the filter on its own.

Cons:
- Housing is shiny plastic. Though I was hoping for a metal housing based on the picture, at the price point I'm not going to make too much of a gripe about it.

- This filter will slightly alter your sound profile. (See below)

Other thoughts:
* The mids sound a little recessed (which makes the sound stage sound more compressed), and there's a little attenuation in the bass. Again, the change is pretty small, so it's definitely possible to compensate for this with an EQ curve without much loss in sound quality. In my application I'm using studio monitor headphones, so this effect could also be less noticeable in a speaker setup. That said, it DOES solve the problem, and for an $8 solution it does a pretty darn good job for its price.

* Cables are about 9 inches long on either side, since I didn't see this listed anywhere else and I was wondering this myself before purchasing it.

* Although the diagram on the back of the box has the male ends connected to the source, I tried it in both orientations in my setup and its effect was not diminished, and the change in the sound profile was no different between either configurations. I'm pretty sure this plug configuration is just for the convenience of automotive installs since head units typically have female RCAs on the back of them, and amps are connected with M-M RCA cables.

4.0 out of 5 stars Made my custom PC>Mixer>Stereo situation better once I used 2 of them 27 May 2016
By M Yeager - Published on Amazon.com

Got rid of my noise in my setup. I have a PC setup with a 3.5mm to RCA "Y" type cable going into a desk mounted DJ Mixer that I use for volume control. That mixer is hooked to a Kenwood rack stereo that is always on. The Kenwood feeds my Bose Accoustimass subwoofer satellite speaker system.

I was having lots of static electricity issues and it was even tuning in some radio station at times. I bought one ground loop isolator and it helped. I changed it from between the PC and the mixer and between the mixer and the stereo. I finally got a second and put one on each side of the mixer. I have way less noise. I occasionally get a pop noise about once ever few hours. I get a tiny amount of noise out of the potentiometer in the mixer. I have to turn it a bit to get rid of it. I have used 'tuner cleaner' which is a spray. That helped a bit but doesn't last. Taking apart the mixer revealed a puddle of tuner cleaner so I am done with that.

I am going to try and ground the mixer now. Before having these 2 isolators grounding actually made it worst. Maybe it will help now.

Let me know if you have any additional suggestions. I was spraying antistatic spray on the carpet in the room and using a humidifier which helped a bit too.

Also, I mounted my mixer in a formica countertop I build my computer desk out of. I should note that if I pull it out of that countertop it has way less noise. I'm thinking of wrapping it in some type of anti static plastic that motherboards come in. I have changed the Y cable several times and even upgraded my RCA cable to the stereo.

3.0 out of 5 stars Like it, it works! However ... 6 Oct. 2016

Works good, killed 95% of my alternator whine!
However it does bring out a lot of highs and treble in the system. Just a basic amp with 4 speakers. With some adjusting its workable , further tests will really show what it can do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeded my expectations 8 Feb. 2017
By Jed Hammond - Published on Amazon.com

I bought this to cure a whine from the amp and sub that I installed in the trunk of my car. It worked perfectly and solved the problem completely. Since I couldn't find any parametric specs I dusted off my old signal generator and true RMS voltmeter and ran some simple tests. As far as I can tell the -3dB frequency response with the output unloaded is <5 Hz to >20KHz. Gain is approximately unity and fully symmetrical i.e. input and output connectors can be reversed with no difference in performance. The only minor issue was the channels were crossed so the white input connected to the red output and vice versa. Apart from that I am highly impressed by such an inexpensive device!
