This item is leagues ahead of the woven plastic or thick polythene covers you see in DIY stores. It's made of heavy duty fabric, backed with a rubbery waterproof membrane. It's clearly made to last. It's also provided with a pole and stand that sits in the middle of the table, propping up the centre to help water drain away. This helps prevent the cover becoming covered in green slime from stagnant pools of rain water. My only very minor gripe is that the ends of the cord ties hadn't been sealed well and so they would quickly fray and be difficult to thread. To solve this, I burned the ends with a flame to seal them myself.

As our chairs don't fit all the way under the table, I found I needed the 8 seater rectangular version even though we have a 6 seater. It's a near perfect fit.

The cover itself is very good quality and the bungee cords work very well. My only issue is the post to keep the centre raised (so that rainwater drains off) - it is a short post which sits over two metal stands (think Blue Peter Christmas wreath made out of coat hangers) - one gust of wind and the post falls over; I've bought a broom handle so it goes through the hole in the centre of table and that seems to work perfectly...

Purposely didn't want to rank this until it had been tested properly over the winter. It's appears to be a good heavy product, however all of the waterproof lining/layer underneath started cracking and flaking off. Rubbish product!

Falling apart. Cords to attach cover to furniture are causing cover to rip. Inside of cover flaking off. Was quite expensive and we expected quality. Poor quality and very unhappy. Unfortunately we are just beyond our 30 days and have no recourse.

I bought one of these in 2008 (from another supplier). I'm about (in 2013) to buy a replacement. As other reviewers have said, it's extremely well made, with taped seams, a heavyweight, rubberised cloth, and the nifty little prop stand that lifts the centre so it doesn't pool surface water. It's generously sized, and certainly weighty. Easier to handle with two people, although my wife is quite happy to leave it for me to do by myself at the start and end of winter :)

Mine has given up after five winters, including two with plenty of snow and ice and no shortage of wind. The cloth has finally worn through this year where it's laid over the back edge of one of the chairs underneath. I really can't complain at that kind of service life though, as it's worked out at well under a tenner a year, for completely waterproof protection. It's certainly outlasted any other cover I've had. Definitely getting the same again.

The shape is more octagonal than rectangular as described. However the quality of material, seams and tie downs are very good and all in all the product would seem to be ideal for the over-wintering of garden furnoture which is too large to store indoors.

I am just looking to replace after 3 years outside in winter. Size wise is great for table and 6 chairs folded in- can leave them with covers in season.
It has disintegrated over last winter and started to leak badly.
I tuck the bottom edge under the legs of the table to stop it blowing around and may place the umbrella lengthways to provide a ridge to shed water.
Reasonable value and performance all said.
I will buy again. If I bought the table in over winter I would have got another couple of seasons out of it.

Very good quality, and appears far more robust than any I have had before. Like most people, I have got through quite a few of these over the years (and they do take quite a bashing!), but this one I expect to last longer. Draw cords are good and much simpler and more effective than the ones I have had before ... these have sprung toggles which are easier to fit ... just need to keep an eye on them and tighten occasionally; especially after strong wind. Centre "support" can fall over in strong wind, but again just needs re-visiting, and has not broken, so a good idea.
