World-class noise cancellation
Years of research went into them so you’ll get more out of them. Better quiet, better sound and better for your music.
Lose the wires
Hassle-free wireless is simpler than ever: Bluetooth and NFC connections are quick and easy. And voice prompts to guide you through it so you’ll never have to reach for your device.
Sound that stays true to your music
Volume-optimised EQ gives you a consistent, balanced performance. Even when you have to turn it up on a plane, the sound stays true to your music.
More time with your music
Rechargeable lithium-ion battery delivers up to 20 hours per charge so you can listen wirelessly for longer. Or, with the included back-up audio cable, you can plug in and get 40 hours.
Windy or noisy environments used to make calls hard to hear. Not anymore — a noise-rejecting dual-microphone system makes your calls clear from both ends.

Noise cancellation is pretty much the best I've heard, there's a small level of white noise present when no audio is playing, but doesn't affect sound quality when playing audio. Also, if you update the firmware to the latest version (currently 1.3.2) you get to choose multiple levels of noise cancelling, including off if you so wish.
Battery life is excellent, easily lasting a whole day on a full charge even using bluetooth.
Using the headphones as a headset for mobile phones works flawlessly, I've had some odd issues using them as a VOIP headset on various programs on my work Macbook Pro 2016, webex in particular seems to have some issues with them, Skype for Business seems to work fine, so just something to be aware of if you're using them for meetings.
I don't use these for any sports activities, they're not suitable for that, I use my Bose MIE2i headphones for more active pursuits.
In summary, an awesome set of headphones suitable for all day listening and a decent headset as well, so long as you're not using webex on a Mac it seems.
My Bose QC35s have three main uses:
Commuting headphones used on London Underground every day with Spotify and an iPhone 6.
Office headphones worn all day for music and 1-2 calls per week. The headphones are connected to a MacBook Pro and iPhone 6 simultaneously but primarily used with Spotify on the MacBook Pro.
Travel headphones used with an iPhone 6 and iPad Mini via Bluetooth and in-flight entertainment systems via wire.
The noise cancelling is the best I have ever experienced. It blocks out most of the noise on the London Underground and almost all noise in my office. I am a frequent flyer and the noise cancelling is so effective that I wear the QC35s for the duration of every flight - even when I am not listening to anything - because I am a light sleeper and they eliminate the engine noise.
The Bose QC35s are the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned. I wear them almost all day every day with no discomfort or need to adjust them. This was also true on a recent 11.5 hour flight to Bangkok.
The Bose QC35s have a very understated inconspicuous design which makes them ideal for commuting without feeling self conscious. The ear cups go completely around the ear which is why they are so comfortable. The inside of each ear cup is marked with "L" and "R" so you know which way round to wear them. The headband is well cushioned and very comfortable. The headphones are designed in such a way that they can be easily folded and placed in the supplied storage case although I use the headphones so often that I never use the case.
The outside of the right ear cup has an on/off switch which also enables Bluetooth pairing when held in the on position for a few seconds. The bottom of the right ear cup has three buttons for increasing/decreasing volume and playing/pausing the input. The buttons are very intuitive to use when wearing the headphones.
The headphones are charged via a supplied micro USB cable which connects to the micro USB socket on the bottom of the right ear cup. I charge the headphones every day when I go for my lunch break and I always have close to 100% power. Bose claim you get 20 hours wireless use from a full charge and that appears to be quite realistic. When you switch the headphones on, a voice tells you the percentage of power remaining.
There is a 2.5mm socket on the bottom of the left ear cup which can be used with the supplied 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable to connect to sources where Bluetooth cannot be used. It is a pity Bose chose to use 2.5mm rather than the more common 3.5mm but it is not a deal breaker. A dual plug adapter for use with in-flight entertainment systems is also supplied.
I am a fitness fanatic and train for two hours every morning Monday-Friday. It is personal preference and highly subjective but I do not consider over ear headphones to be suitable for the gym and therefore do not use my Bose QC35s there. Instead I use JayBird BlueBuds X which are excellent but a couple of years old now so superior alternatives are almost certainly available.
There is one piece of advice I must give if you intend to use the Bose QC35s with an iPhone, MacBook and Bluetooth mouse simultaneously. I was initially experiencing stuttering audio with this configuration which only stopped when I either turned off the mouse or stopped the iPhone connection. After much research, I learned I was experiencing Bluetooth interference. There are countless suggestions for resolving it but only one worked for me and I only saw it on one website so it is worth sharing. I had to reset the Bluetooth module on the MacBook by holding down Shift+Option, clicking on the Bluetooth menu item, clicking "Debug" then clicking "Reset the Bluetooth module". The audio was never anything less than perfect after that.
In summary, the Bose QC35s are the best Bluetooth headphones I have ever owned. They provide the best audio quality, noise cancelling, comfort and understated design.
To cut a long story short, I replaced them for the Sony MDR1000x which so far has blown the 35's out of the water on most criteria. I'm almost glad the 35's were faulty as i'm a brand snob and wouldn't of chosen the MDR1000's otherwise.
