Portable and Compact Painting and Spraying System for Medium-Sized Jobs
The Bosch PFS 65 is easy to use to spray medium to large surfaces.

The Bosch PFS 65 fine spray system makes painting and a variety of other spraying jobs easy. You can use it to accurately spray paint, varnishes, lacquers, oils and numerous other spray materials. The PFS 65 Spray System can be used both on indoor and outdoor surfaces easily and quickly-even DIYers with little previous experience of spraying can achieve professional results.

Over-The-Shoulder Unit for Spraying Medium to Large Objects

The portable PFS 65 spray system offers precise and constant spraying with the highest flexibility for medium to large objects. You can hang the tool over your shoulder, making it easy to move around quickly. And with the lightweight gun that fits securely in your hand, you can work on painting projects easily, even on ceilings and overhead beams.

The Bosch PFS 65 lets you spray a variety of materials including paints, varnishes and stains.

Spray a Variety of Materials

Like all Bosch spray systems, the PFS 65 not only enables you to apply paint perfectly; it also lets you spray numerous other materials with impressive results. And it can do this without requiring time-consuming preparation: most materials, like oil paints, wood preservatives, varnishes, and stains, can simply be sprayed undiluted; if using other materials, like emulsion paint, primers, and glazes, all you have to do is add a little diluter such as water or solvent.

SprayControl Technology lets you work at high volume and low pressure precisely.

Easy to use with SprayControl Technology

Thanks to Bosch’s SprayControl Technology, you can work at high volume and low pressure with the PFS 65 more precisely than ever before. An air jacket perfectly focuses the paint mist when spraying, which means you use up to 15 per cent less paint. Moreover, the air jet speeds up the drying of paint, so that hardly any tears occur; and a second coat of paint can be instantly sprayed over the first coat. Even a beginner can achieve perfect results straight away.

Nozzle adjustment of the PFS 105 E.

Accurate Spraying Every Time

The PFS 65’s paint nozzle can be precisely adjusted for accurate spraying: choose from a wide paint jet in a horizontal or vertical direction, or choose a pencil-thin jet.

Clean-Up Is Fast Thanks To SDS Quick System

Thanks to the Bosch SDS Quick system, you can change the tool’s tank in no time--meaning fast paint changes and easy cleaning.

Parked Position for Work Breaks

If you need to take a break during the job, the spray gun can be conveniently laid down in the ‘parked’ position.

Bought this spray gun about a month ago when I was decorating my sons room. I can imagine it will be good if you are trying to spray small objects with extremely watery paint.... I had to dilute tin of dulux paint, which took me about 3 hours (as the mixture should be very consistent to prevent clogging) and plus the fact I ended up with completely different shade! The coverage is good but VERY-VERY SLOW... you need to have a nerves of saint to cope with this machine. IN the end, I ditched it and finished off the job with good old roller and brush! No way it would cope with non water based paints! Overall, for me it was just a waist of money!

I used this to paint the entire ceiling of my panneled basement, and am now using to paint the outside of my house. After only getting about a quarter of it done one evening, I went out, bought this and finished it off the next - loads faster.
I'd argue that it does take some getting used.
The video shows people applying the paint slowly. I found that this put too much paint on, and it began to drip. Personally I found it easier to paint surfaces with quick strokes, but go over the same area twice, being careful not to dwell.
Also, to get into the edges of the grooves (of the panel), I went at a 45 degree angle one way, then 45 degree the other.
I had to water down the oil based paint I was using. This is a messy job, and also cleaning the unit after every use (filling the container with white spirit, a couple of times, spraying through, and brushing and cleaning the gun), about 20mins, so I'd argue its only useful for big jobs.
To tape or not to tape? If you are going to paint within 50cms of another object then you need to tape it over (or use a staple machine and staple up some heavy paper as I think this goes faster). It depends on how different the other thing is to what you are painting (white and cream is fine, white and brown is not). If you aren't careful, you will soon end up with fine dots over lots of your surfaces.
If you use it with oil paints in doors, then buy a proper face mask (respirator). I used one and couldn't even smell the paint.

This could make a difference to completing a large job of painting without going nuts. I have a large full house height extension to prime internal plaster then paint with the final choice for each room. So far this has behaved flawlessly, unlike the lower model in this range which died after mysteriously ingesting paint. Go for this model and that can't happen due to the length of hose between the spray trigger unit and the compressor motor.

You'll need to seriously dilute emulsion paint and stir and shake until the mix is consistent. This needn't take a long time though I maybe overcautious as I reckon it takes me 10 - 15 minutes to get this done.

I have developed a system of using am empty coffee jar to hold the spray unit with its nozzle while i top up the reservoir with the pre diluted batch of paint. I do clean the nozzle components at this point, in this case with water as that's the solvent for emulsion paint. Doh!

This unit means far less bending to load up a roller with paint, or whatever other brush, pad you would normally use. Either tape up windows and cover furniture etc, not an issue for me yet, or use a brush/pad to get up to wall fittings window frames etc.

I don't find painting fun so this has already cut down the time taken considerably and saved my back. Just get the larger 800ml reservoir at the same time for those larger jobs.

I bought this product recently to paint 2 interior doors as I hate painting! I took the doors off and sprayed them in the garage. They originally had a wax finish and the first coat looked watery and splattery. I was using standard oil based paint and thinning it with white spirit. I wasn't sure if I had thinned it too much or was spraying too thickly. The instructions say to thin with 10% of thinner but I found that I was using over double this (not an issue with the product, just depends on your paint). I kept spraying multiple thin coats with the spray on the very lowest setting. The paint said it took 16 hours to dry but I was reapplying after 30 mins as you are not using a brush you don't drag the tacky paint back off. In one afternoon I had completed both doors with an excellent finish. I have since used it to spray a wall in my garden using Sandex exterior paint. This was water based so I mixed it with water at around 70/30. The whole job took around 1 hour for the 4 x 2 metre wall and dried in minutes which was lucky as it started raining almost immediately!
Overall I am very glad of my purchase and although it seems that you are doing more preparation and cleaning it's really no more than brushes and rollers and the paint goes further as you are not putting it on as thick, plus it makes painting fun :)

The Bosch PFS65 works excellently in the garden with low viscosity fluids such as decking and fencing sprays, but thicker fluids such as paints for spraying household furniture are a little more difficult to get right. It's a low-pressure system (as most are at this price point), so with thicker fluids it's important to dilute the material to be applied and practice spray to ensure you've got the right balance of paint thickness and technique. However, there's a very helpful DVD included and with a little practice it works well - once you're into your stride, it's much faster than a brush or roller, and the application much more even. It's good for many domestic applications - treating fencing, decking, timber cladding, painting furniture, radiators, or maybe even a garage door - but not for truly demanding projects as the results won't equal a costly professional sprayer (such as those used for car spraying). The design is robust, thoughtful and practical (the spray hose winds neatly around the pump after use), and the ability to strap the pump over your shoulder makes it much easier to use than most where mobility is important (up a ladder for example). The only downside is that the paint canister is a little small, holding only 600ml of fluid (most competitor products hold more), but it's fine for small projects; on larger ones you may be refilling it quite often. As with any spray system, it's also important to carefully mask off surrounding areas to prevent over-spray. Usual Bosch high build quality, and quite easy to clean after use. Provided your project isn't too ambitious or demanding, this can be a very useful, time-saving device which - with a little practice - can give excellent results.
