I've used the blender - brilliant for the banana milk shakes that I make a lot - a couple of times now and it's much better than any other blender I've had. It's perhaps not as powerful as some, though 800W is pretty powerful, but it's really quick and effective on account of the way the bottom of the jug is shaped under the blades .
Chipping potatoes (with the chipping attachment) and chopping onions for a hash, excellent. Though I'm not sure how the potato chips would fare as actual chips, too small and too curly, they'd fall through the basket of my deep fat fryer. But these chips do look as though they'd be an ideal basis for producing mash - fast and even to cook, no unsightly lumps. This was the very first job I did with the machine but I still managed to prep the two spuds and the two onions significantly faster than I would have done with a knife.
Juicing apples - attachment provided in addition to the orange/lemon juicer - works really well and the fresh juice tasted exactly like the cox apples that produced it. Two apples produced a wine glass of juice. Though I'm not sure how much I'll be using this gizmo. I simply don't drink a lot of fruit juice.
Grating and slicing root vegetables, apples and cabbage for a coleslaw was stunningly effective. I love coleslaw but have never made it often enough because of the amount of grating and slicing required. Well that's about to change.
In short, this machine is a revolution in my kitchen. I was inspired by the Which article to buy it. The blender alone is worth the money (bought elsewhere for £85). And the enormous range of things it does seems hard to beat with any other machine at any price.
