From the manufacturer
Cut through stubborn branches without ease thanks to the powerful 700W motor. The AHS 65-34 offers an outstanding cutting performance and is powerful enough to tackle larger sized hedges.
Ergonomic & Well Balanced
The AHS 65-34 design ensures that you storm through big jobs with minimal strain on your back and arms. Its excellent handling also means you can work in any position for more comfortable cutting.
This hedgecutter has a tip protector to ensure that you do not damage the blade while cutting along walls and paths.
The AHS 65-34 has a sawing function at the top of the blade which enables you to cut through branches of up to 38 mm in diameter, ideal for the thicker, more stubborn branches.

You WILL cut the cable, being bright orange it's very hard to see!!!
An RCD might save your life and will be the best money you ever spent.
GREAT trimmer get's the job done easily and although not a knife through butter don't test the theory on an arm or finger!
One gripe!...the end of the blade (where there are no teeth) is about an inch or two long. This bit has a tendancy to get snagged up in your bush! (Ooh err missus!). If there were less "toothless metal" at the end it would not get caught up so much.
Much lighter than a petrol trimmer and less likely to keep getting me covered in petrol.
this trimmer cuts through hedges like a celebrity cuts through a night club queue very easy in fact probably too easy (its as good as a petrol trimmer so far imho but I will test in a few months on my bigger hedges).
the manual advises you to wear ear protectors so its noisy but not as noisy as a petrol trimmer.
its quite heavy (not as heavy as a petrol trimmer but your arms will feel it after a 10 minutes or so ) its a good workout anyway :).
it has a long blade with large tooth spacing.
cable length is ok but you will need an extension lead if you have a large garden(you can get one with the £20 you save. I also purchased a safety RCD Adapter so if I cut through the cable it will be safe)
I got this as a replacement for (a) a very heavy 5kg Qualcast 25cc petrol trimmer(very good at trimming big thick hedges though) but the spark plugs went on it(common problem apparently and are hard to get hold of) and (B) a very light and manoeuvrable Bosch 14mh battery powered trimmer but won't cut though a medium hedge even with spare batteries.because the batteries on mine only last about 5-10 mins after a 3 hour charge.
I would recommend this trimmer so far
My only negative is that it is quite heavy to hold up while clenching the two power levers to use it, so as my wrists ache the power cuts out as its not comfortable to hold.
If you are trimming anything above waist height such as overgrowing neighbours bramble bushes These will cut through the toughest of wooded bramble. With reasonably ease.
If you need to cut Boxus or small hedging, ie in a bending position, this long length blade is a little heavy, I would buy the smaller length blade.
The blade gaps are great, it means the cutter handles the larger branches with ease. I would highly recommend the larger tooth gap if the hedge you're looking at has some thick branches to it. It even managed to cut into a metal ladder when I wasn't paying attention (oops)
