Accurate laser measuring with five different operating modes and a handy tripod
Do you want to lay tiles but you’re not sure you’ll be able to do it with the necessary precision? Do you want to hang a new light fixture exactly above the centre of a table without having to make complicated measurements? Would you like to hang a picture gallery along your stairwell wall? You can accomplish all of these tasks with ease with the help of the Bosch PCL 20 Cross Line Laser Level.
The PCL 20 makes complicated alignment of objects a thing of the past. Levelling work can be completed quickly and precisely thanks to state-of-the-art laser technology and extremely easy operation. With the PCL 20 you can position objects in a perfectly straight line, even in difficult situations. This clever laser instrument ensures accurate alignment because of its self-levelling function. It gives you perfect vertical and horizontal lines every time.
This version of the PCL 20 comes complete with a handy tripod to offer hands-free help when working on your DIY projects.
Features of the PCL 20 Cross Line Laser Level
The PCL 20 Cross Line Laser Level is a versatile assistant for do-it-yourselfers. It offers five different operating modes: horizontal, vertical or inclined lines, as well as crossed lines and plumb point transfer. The user sets the desired mode by gently pressing the control panel. Many tasks can be performed easily with the PCL 20--whether hanging pictures, fitting shelves, laying tiles or painting interior walls, the laser lines enable exact alignment without using solid objects like rulers. The high-quality laser projects very clearly visible laser lines up to ten metres with an astonishing maximum accuracy of 0.5 millimetres per metre.

Hands-free levelling with the handy tripod
The 1.5-metre-high tripod included in this Tripod Set provides reliable assistance in many situations. The crank mechanism is particularly handy: it makes it easy to finely adjust the tripod to the desired height, and the geared elevator allows you to set up the laser at precisely the required height. All control elements of the tripod are clearly visible in red.
The tripod is also compatible with commercially available cameras.
The PCL 20 can help you accomplish many tasks, and with the tripod you can accomplish them virtually hands-free. If you already have a tripod, choose the option of the PCL 20 without the tripod, available separately.
Making levelling easy
The PCL 20 levels itself in four seconds on average (with an initial incline of no more than four degrees). A luminous LED gives the “green light” when the automatic levelling process is finished, letting you know the tool is ready for operation. If the LED lights up red, the tool has to be readjusted manually. In this case, the laser beam is automatically switched off to prevent errors.
|The PCL 20 is extremely easy to operate. The ergonomic on/off switch on the side of the tool is easily accessible. When it’s switched off, the laser pendulum is automatically locked for safe transportation. Softgrip coverings on the housing ensure safe and convenient handling. The PCL 20 weighs only 600 grams and its optical components are protected by a glass plate. || |

The control panel for mode setting displays the operating mode by means of an LED light. The mode setting is used to select any of the laser functions: cross lines, horizontal and vertical single lines. The additional plumb function transfers a point from the floor to the ceiling. This function is, for example, ideal for installing light fixtures on ceilings.
A wall holder is supplied as standard for convenient fixing to a wall. It can easily be mounted at the appropriate height using a screw, a nail or adhesive tape. The cross line laser level can be finely adjusted on the wall holder within a range of ± 6 centimetres. The tool also comes with a protective fabric bag for transporting and storing.
The PCL 20 also comes with a protective fabric bag for easy transport.
Digital Measuring Tools from Bosch
Digital measuring tools from Bosch impress with precision and extremely easy operation--whether when levelling objects, measuring distances or detecting all different kinds of materials and power cables.

I used it to mark out all my centrelines and positions of my fire sprinklers on the ground, it handled all this well also.
Great cheap option for home or on site, although this only has 10m range which for me is perfect but obviously not good enough for bigger areas
however they would have to be pretty large.
Must be half of that, the dewalt reaches twice the distance at least and fades to a bigger line where u would take the middle of it as level, the Bosch just vanishes after a couple of meters! And in verticle doesn't stretch over your head like the dewalt, the line starts about 2.5 meters ahead. Lucky for the plumb bob dot... Although u can't have it on at the same time as the lines.. Another bug bear is there is no magnet on the back for quick fix to metal studs columns etc.
Saying that I did get a free tripod, handy for some diy tiling! And the Off switch also locks the pendant to protect it from damage. Overall the spec is over inflated and should be reviewed or the laser up graded to be fair,
I'm keeping this as a spare and have gone back to the dewalt.
Summary: If your on leveling on site or bright conditions don't buy it, if your doing DIY at home tiling, door frames, a little wall, small jobs etc, it will be ok. It's not what I bought it for though and feel a bit let down, therefore 2stars..
Indoors it will work to around 5 metres as long as its not too bright.
Outdoors on even the dullest of days you will be lucky to get 1,5 metres.
Maybe Bosch intended it for use in the dark??????
Just used it to level a kitchen unit and base. I'm a spark and will use this for marking out lines of down lights and levelling accessories on different Walls.
The only down side is the price of the pole which is an extra. I wish I'd bought a laser level years ago.
